We need to layoff 50% of the India folks
Isn’t it simple? Q has majority R&D and hard work done in India. Q is better off with an Indian CEO like other major tech companies
Closest comparison to q is broadcom, both are b2b companies with hardware focus. (Yes, nvidia's now more b2b than b2c, but it started out as b2c) As a b2b company, where's the next significant growth coming from? Q is either competing with broadcom or nvidia or samsung or huawei. Long term prospects aren't great.
@1k3 you realize comm-theory's been very close to shanon limit for like 20 years now, going from 95% to 96% of shannon limit is expensive and ROI is close to 0. It's all about implementation and 20 years is enough for everyone to catch up...
The biggest mistake of Q is to make a heavy investment in India and to treat the modem business as a commodity. It will accelerate the loss of main business of Q sooner.
Qualcomm definitely needs an Indian CEO to save this sinking ship! Look at Microsoft Cadence Google, and Apple will have an Indian CEO soon
Wrong, Q needs Jessen Huang, who ki-ls all politics. Constant reorg every two years. Any ORG gets completely dissolved if the revenue target is not met. then, the VP can become a senior eng in days...BTW, there is no layoff in N.
Minus the Indian stuff yeah
Yes Qualcomm is the rare case among big tech without an Indian CEO, given the fact that majority R&D were done in India.
