How very petty, the scheduled thank you day was eliminated. Is it common in American society to withdraw thanks? I gave you a gift but I’m taking it back…

They are making the hard choices.
The last few months have been thank you months. Lol
Yep! Thank You day replaced as expected with a F--k You Day. How lovely. I think everyone should just NOT work that day anyway. Don't put in Workday. Just don't show up.
It's capitalism, it's the elites....... Ge-z! where did some of you go to school?
America has a history in taking back what is given. Oklahoma...
TK doesn't care about anyone... just run away when you get the chance.
They are shameless, aren't they.
One day means nothing to him, could have been easily kept as a day off. This is just message to us, telling us who is boss.
He can go fck himself, because i am still taking the day off. And maybe throw a sickie on Thu and Wed for good measure. The total amount of sh--s given at this point == 0.
Yes, I feel a chill coming on... it might peak on that date.
Its okay. Im ill that day
At this point is absolutely clear that they just want people to leave and avoid paying severance.
Unless you have no other options right now, I don't see how anyone can work for this company. You mean absolutely nothing to them. TK is an id--t and an a-ho-e. A day off means nothing to the business, so this is just petty BS.
@1jls+1j86kP08 the Thank You days are a paid leave provided by the company and it was once a quarter. It's not in perpetuity but was started end last year spilling over to this. It's sort of a way for the company to say Thank you for the hard work. Somewhat similar to your year end shutdown.
FYI, we at TIBCO had actual set, as part of our holiday schedule, a Winter Shutdown. For 2022, this meant Wed, Thu, and Fri after Xmas (since Xmas is on Sunday this year). We still have the 26th (Monday, technically Christmas Eve Observed) and the 27th (Tuesday, Christmas Observed), but as promised in the all-hands, they wiped those out and it was reflected as such on Monday the 10th in Workday. I've never heard of a company removing defined holidays less than 3 months from their occurrence. I'm sure most people at former TIBCO had already made Xmas week plans (we've always had winter shutdown)...sure we still have untracked (note: not unlimited) PTO, so I highly recommend if you're still here, put those requests in to get them off!
TIBCO person here. I monitor your thread religiously and heard TK talk about thank you days. What are they exactly?
It's still there in my heart.
Its sill showing as a day off on Backstage, but i have a feeling thank you days will be Oct 18,19,20 for most people.
It’s common in American capitalism
Thank you days were given to us by Citrix. That company no longer exists. The sooner you realize you no longer work for Citrix, the easier it will be for you to accept and either stay in the new hellhole or leave to a brighter future.
It's d-mb for the ones already on the books for 2022, but in general companies in the US only have about 10 holidays a year. The thank-you days, like working from home for office-based employees, is a bonus. Did you think that, with COVID generally over as an epidemic, that companies would permanently go from 10 holidays to 16 or whatever?
It’s been officially renamed to F—k you day
