Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

American jobs to India? Good luck with that .

Very often customers call back after getting a call from Allstate India because they wanted to verify that it was really Allstate contacting them and not some scammers . And yes it may be a little prejudice to assume that an Indian accent equals a scam but there is some truth to the fact that a lot of scammers do call from India . Yet Allstate wants customers to hand over their debit card numbers so they can avoid issuing paper checks. Who knows what their security standards are over there . Customers are not going to like it and not only will they be hesitant to provide account info they will not want to even speak with people who do not speak English properly . They want to speak to someone they understand . For that reason I cannot see Allstate sending all the claims jobs there . I could be wrong but it just seems dumb on Allstate’s part but so do a lot of things they do so you never know .

The powers that be have already come with with an acceptable level of customer loss that will still be overcome by the savings of moving claims and other departments to India. And that level is much higher than people think. And this acceptable loss also refuces risk claims exposure as well and us factored in.

Company profit and financial gain is not only cashed checks from the customer but cost savings. If the savings to move to India makes the company more in savings than premium paid by a certain number of customers then the customers are sacrificed. We all need to face that the vast majority if claims and other areas are moving to India at the acceptable level of loss of customers and it will not change and course will not be altered until the acceptable level of lost customers us breached.

There have been a lot of complaints by customers, providers, and vendors about dealing with India. They can't understand them, answer their questions or provide empathetic customer service. People are leaving because of it. They paid higher premiums because they were able to deal with American workers, now they're really upset about India. This is going to ruin Allstate!

@jah Not sure where you have been but this is already happening. India employees are already in the process of being trained and certified for all aspects of the adjuster roles. India has already been dealing with shops and assisting with injury settlements from an early stage "transition" position. They are getting India ready for full live. India will be handling all of it at a much lower price than us eventually. There are multiple posts on US claims parties training and getting India ready for all the duties and roles on this site.

You should enable your app to receive audio calls. Phone calls are not very secure, even without all the scam calls.

Alot of India claims jobs will be in support roles.

Appraisers dealing with shops and claim owners making liability, Settle injury , etc are no way going to be done in India

They are willing to lose a certain percentage of customers if having India work claims saves them enough money to still be advantageous.

The hacks running this company can't see any further than their bank accounts at the moment. The sad reality is the arrogance of Allstate leadership puts them in the position of "We are Allstate and therefor the customers will deal with it and like it." They don't care about the customers concerns much like they don't care about the employees. It will be much too late by the time they get to the "We messed up" stage and only when their bloated unwarranted bonuses drop below new yachts every 6 months levels.
