Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

Sapience

I told my boss when I am in meetings I don’t click on the stupid screen, I am listening, speaking or taking notes, but for some reason not getting credits.

His response was straight to the point: “I don’t have time or energy to look at another stupid report from Frank, I know my team well, don’t worry, you are good”

This was reassuring, Sapience report shows like I am working few hours a day, but I am in meetings all day.

This is the worst company I’ve ever worked for. I feel like a prisoner.

people in the office talk about fake meetings, mouse gadgets, placing items on your keyboard to simulate typing, everyone is cheating thr system, Fiserv is absolutely the worst place I have ever worked.

You need to have a meeting with more than yourself to count... schedule blocks of time with your team called "Team Sync" & "Focus time" - this way it serves a dual purpose to help you actually get work done & meet the silly activity requirements.

Just schedule yourself an outlook meeting for many hours per day, it'll probably fill in the gaps of time you're missing in sapience.

Sapience has slowed down my computer performance significantly. Find myself having to restart frozen apps constantly. How ironic, a tool meant for improving productivity actually results in less.

CFO likens the workforce analytics (Sapience) to a fit bit and acts like it is a benefit (more like a prisoner ankle bracelet to me). Fit bits are optional, prison bracelets are not.....What is wrong with these people!!

Manager told to enter 40 hours per week even if more than that logged in Sapience. Legal?

100% agree, I now follow this same philosophy. Been here over 20 years, it’s sad what has happened to this place, buts it’s also not our responsibility to drown ourselves trying to keep it afloat.

The sad thing is your manager has no power to overrule anything anymore. So I wouldn’t rely or trust anything from any manager. Just do your job get your stuff done. Don’t work extra don’t be a slacker. Just get done what you know you need done and sleep good at night not having a care about this place. If they are going to fire you they will find a way so no point worrying about it and no point giving anything extra not giving up personal/family time for this place. It ain’t worth it.

FYI

Sapience now automatically gives credit if you're in a call with at least two participants. The previous version only gave credit if the call was scheduled as an Outlook meeting.

Frank B depends on the trauma bond - you will never satisfy his hunger for power. Get out while you can - he is a freaking narcissist whose payoff is "exposing" others. The man is completely mad.

It is automatically installed on your system. You cannot remove it. It will report you if you try to stop it.

While sane managers engaged with their teams certainly don't need Sapience or these "tools" to gauge work, FB does. Maniacally. Managers who don't have team metrics meeting FB expectations will be badgered into compliance--or elimination. A lot of good managers from front-line to SVP started out with this kind of team-focused mindset, but are worn down by the top down pressure to show a compliant dashboard report. They will burn out or leave...voluntarily or not. Which then of course feeds the Sapience myth of weeding out the "problems". As said elsewhere, logic doesn't apply.

What is Sapience? Does everyone have that on their computer or it has to be downloaded?

I wouldn’t trust your manager on that. When they want to cut people they’ll find a way.

I'm damn certain I got zero credit while IT spent 3.5 hrs fixing my computer remotely yesterday.

If only Fiserv spent time and money on more productive cr*p.

Does Sapience know you're entering comments on this site during company time? If so, then in-my-book you're being very productive. Job well done my friend !

Correct, I don’t get Sapience credit when I am in teams, it only shows the 1st min when I launch the app. I stop caring a long time ago, when my time is up, I just leave, but no one has the courage to be honest and tell me when my last day is as I am WFH with exception.
