I understand your underhanded statement doesn't change the fact Oxy is a dog and pony show when it comes to going green. This does nothing to help the environment. Just another nice headline. Honestly nobody cares that you are offended because you care about a billion dollar company more than the environment. Just like you have a opinion. Someone else can have one too. That is, that they could do more. A lot more.
To really be green you must have research going in alternative energies( non fossil fuels). I think the big oil companies are doing that. Please educate us if Oxy is playing around with alternative energy.
My favorite part is that we are company that needs help cutting debt but this isonly increasing our cost of production for the sake of a minimal tax break that still won't cut into debt even if sold on the open market. Its just pure PR and will not improve our debt situation.
The green intatives could make the break even costs for wells higher and we don't get to increase costs we sell oil by its set by the market. Maybe this will lead to less production eventually rising oil prices.

Exactly. People don't realize that the green initiatives and what Biden is going to do is bad for ordinary people, but will be good for Oxy. All the initiatives are going to do is make products more expensive for the American people. Heating costs, gas prices, etc are all going up. It will be decades before we get to the point that a considerable amount of oil consumption has been replaced by alternative sources.

Invest in plastic recycling or plastic removal from the environment to help clean up waste from petroleum based products, that you help create. It's not hard.

I don't think it's a insult so much as it is true. Oxy likes to pretend to be green to put on a show. That's all this is. Probably think they will get a tax break from Biden. This just equalizes what they put into they air, to looks for more black gold. It's not like they were previously proactive in remedying the destruction of the environment, either directly or by previously purchased subsidiaries.
Didn't know we were in the business of recycling paper. Glad we don't have to be proficient at the meaningless b—s— and can just focus on executing our business. Being carbon neutral allows us to continue executing our business and supplying the market. Demand for oil will exist for a long time and won't be replaced by alternative solutions any time in the near future. Do some homework.
