Thread regarding Walgreens layoffs

Anybody worried about bankruptcy?

Stock is currently in a free fall. The executives would make out fine with a golden parachute but rest at the support center, DCs, stores, etc... would be sc--wed if company files for bankruptcy.

Slap in the face for anybody that's been here for a long time. We're getting no proper direction, no good strategy and at the end of the day the performance of the company is going to be the reason we don't get compensation. WBA has never and probably will never put the employees first but I wonder what would happen in the event of a bankruptcy. Only time the employees get put first is if they need a finger to point towards for the company's performance.
Why the he-l are we doing any work? I seriously wonder why we do anything at this point.

Yes. Very concerned about bankruptcy. There’s a shareholder class action suit set for settlement (what else🙄) Any and everything we’ve been promised and worked so hard for will be GONE. And there will be zero recourse. Remember all the folks at GM? Nada. Didn’t matter how long their service was, etc- from the plants to headquarters. They got nothing. Zilch. Even after the company suddenly reappeared one day.
Too bad nothing can be clawed back of the $108k/per DAY that RB made. Most store employees will never make that in a yr, let alone for 1 day of ‘work’. It’s disgusting. Time for folks to start thinking about their own class action suits.
And keep pounding the pavement/keyboard to get the h-ll out ASAP!!!!!

There will be no government bailout because there are too many other options out there for pharmacy but whatever these so called leaders at corporate do with it if it does happen will determine whether this company can go on afterwards. My previous company that I worked for before coming to Walgreens while they are still in business they have become a much smaller footprint now and this company’s biggest problem has been they became to big and they let the biggest id--t of them all run this company into the ground when they bought his company

I’ve thought about this a lot. With all of the pharmacies Walgreens operates does a government bailout of some type happen? Surely they wouldn’t allow the liquidation of 8k pharmacies at once.

No, because it will happen sooner rather than later!

I do worry about the loyal and dedicated employees that need their jobs. For myself, being close to retirement, what happens to Walgreens at this point, is not a concern. Not that invested. Bankruptcy may be a ways off but more layoffs are certainly possible as the company continues to decline.
