Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Why is the stock yoyo-ing so much?

Makes no sense. We either su-k or not. Why such wild swings?

@1j1 Getting a MegaCap Tech foundry customer is partly in the price, and that leaves it elevated for the actual performance.

It may take till 2027 to get such a deal and in the meantime the market could take the stock back to ~$60, and it would likely prove to be a great buy at that price.
The current CPU demand will taper as the agentic datacenter buildout growth rate eventually moderates, and the market will start to price that in ahead of time, as usual.

So that might be what takes the stock down, but getting enough external business to make IFS profitable is a huge deal, and would kick off the next ~5x gain, imo.

i think it's mostly because people still can't decide if intel's turnaround is real. every good update pushes the stock higher but any sign of slower execution or weaker demand sends it back down. expectations are high now so even small pieces of news can move the stock a lot. it feels like the market is still trying to figure out what intel is actually worth.

Stock is massively influenced by potential. The revenues and margins at play here are extremely high. The swings happening now are small.

We proved we can produce 18a. Customers should follow. Yield is up and proper.
Now that's the first step in the long chain of steps needed for reconstitution, recovery.
The street cannot make its mind if the non-engineering set of puzzles will fall into place.
They see things, get excited, then they remember what set of bozos is running the ship and the stock falls.
I aint no expert but this is what I am telling myself - makes sense for me
