Has anyone discreetly asked their manager for an ISP. Anyone think it's a good idea.

ISP HR Bingo Game !
BUs have cost centers and labor budgets !
To stay out of labor lawsuits, HR will randomly select 54-57s and Gx's where needed.
Meritocracy OKRs won't factor in. Redundancy will. Way too many manger layers now !
Fab areas can run on 2 Eng weekly and 3 MTs per shift with 2 Man weekly !
16 people neeedd per BU weekly !
We all in the fabs know this ! Our area has been cut low but still over headcount on Shx and Days ! Nights down at 2 MTs Lmao ! No recoveries !
managers will have little say....maybe "between X and Y who would you chose to stay...", maybe...
Ask, it's better than just waiting around for your boss to lay you off. At least it won't be a random surprise.
I haven't but have heard others have. If your Mgr holds against you in these trying times in '25 find a new mgr
Wait when people get fired from Intel they automatically get a package?! That’s amazing. I heard Google had some things like this but didn’t realize we do too. I figured when you got fired you got escorted out the building and that’s it
@sdx Remind me. What does the ‘P’ in ISP stand for again? Do you even work here lmao
Many are asking, particularly if impacted by office / site closures - which were communicated after the voluntary window was shut … If you have a good relationship with your manager , I’d say you are willing to take one for the team … this makes his/her job easier than firing someone.
Risk is though , that you are needed and then you may shot yourself in the foot come rewards time etc
For the time being ISP is with package
If and only if you have something set up for after you get officially fired. Remember ISP is the same as being fired. You will get no package, etc.
If you request for isp but not granted, you will suffer the consequences throughout your life.
If you want it just ask. With these numbers, I think all volunteers will be accepted.
