Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Dell hates their employees

I e never seen a company who is so clearly showing that they do not care about their employees. They have made everyone miserable and not 1 positive.

You think 5 days a week is going to get people to work harder for you. 2 years of bashing their employees. They want people to quit to save severance money. What a pathetic company.

I worked hard for Dell for many years. Made them more money in my role than they’d ever seen in a single quarter, only to be thanked with a pink slip. They have always, and will always prioritize their bottom line over employees. 0/10 would not recommend

Folks collectively need to slam-dunk this company, get into websites like Glassdoor and leave the worst reviews possible, downgrade the company on everything and warn every aspiring graduate/job seeker to not even look at Dell as an option. Time to f**cking fightback…

"EMC badge is gone but reeks of EMC everyday"
Wrong - EMC (at least in my country) didn't mandate people to be in the office for a set number of days. Nearly everyone worked remotely. In most EMC offices there were always more empty desks than ones being used.

This is like bloodletting with the goal of finding out how much more blood they can take while keeping the comapny alive. We should all leave together; they would go bankrupt within a month and loose any market trust in an instant.

they simply dont care. dont care about tell dell. dont care about feedback. dont care about this forum.

The only thing as a company on the stock market they care about is money and if some company like bain tells them BS like "RTO brings 0.1% more productivity" this is what they care.

I’m officially done giving a single sh-t for this company. I was honestly trying before in the hopes it would level out. Now? Completely checked out. Fire me so I can at least collect the unemployment. Fu-k Dell.

Will Dell cover the cost increase for childcare? Will they pay more now that an hour (if you're lucky) or more of your personal time with family is gone? Will they increase you pay now that you're burning gas, tires, and depreciation on your vehicle now that you're driving more? Will they improve anything in the office now that they've sold off real estate and cram you in like sardines? Will they cover the cost for you to buy a more expensive home closer to a metro center so you can hold onto your jobs for another quarter before you get axed?

Absolutely not.

But hey, it's not all bad.

Now you can enjoy that sweet time at the gas pump on your long journey home to see your kid that you see 10 hours less a week... all while thinking about your surprise 9am layoff calendar invite from your creepy director who makes a pass at you every morning in person on the way to your soul crushing open office desk space.

Dell would rather rip your family apart than let workers stay remote

This is only the beginning. It’s starts with mandatory coming in five days a week and soon it will be mandatory 8-5 with a strict attendance policy. They know exactly what they’re doing. Dont let it work! #PlayNiceButWin

Yeah, RTO because the data says so.
The data:
Full remote: record revenues, record eNPS scores, record stock price.

Partial RTO with penalties for remote: newsworthy eNPS crash, stock price retraction, market share loss.

Full RTO mandate with ominous future emails about remote: we shall see.

Sorry your daily nap sessions are over. Hopefully that side hustle you’ve put ahead of this job works out! If not, see you in the office.

EMC badge is gone but reeks of EMC everyday. Dell have never ever ask Field sales to mandate into office. Dell field sales use to even get utility allowance each month. That was taken away during covid, now we even have to pay for all the expenses for the privilege to come into the office inbetween customer meetings. Up keeping the EMC legacy maybe, definitely it was not a Dell culture to mandate field sales in offices.

Whoever coming up with all these ideas is a c$%@

Agree. That's the plan here. Severance took a chunk out of the bottom line in August. They don't want to pay to fire people but they don't want people running to the press or a lawyer right after being fired.
