State Street has to be THE WORST service provider I have ever dealt with. Send everything to India and take no accountability. RFPs are out to others which is just for a paper trail but decision is to move away from State Street and don’t look back.
The company just needs to review the jobs and do a breakdown of what jobs require you to be onsite , and what jobs can be done at home.
This is a win for the company and a win for the workers.
But then as I have always said, the company no longer cares about employee morale.
And on the call yesterday when asked about areas where there’s not enough seating for everyone 4 days a week (we’ve been desk sharing for years now) we were told there was plenty of seating in the cafeteria. Wow. So let’s pony up an additional $ 200 a week (lots of us got cut bonuses and no raise remember?) to sit in a noisy cafeteria and try to collaborate with our teams in India or Poland or the uk where they are sitting in either a nice quiet office or at home. We are treated like less than dirt in North America despite working our as--s off.
Ron O’Hanley, king of ESG should be ashamed of himself. Carbon emissions and increased traffic in Boston due to this ridiculous decree. He is a con - starting as a plagerist, ineffective, over paid and a complete hypocrite. Shame on him and all the brown noses that su-k up to him in order to manage their own political brand at STT and get their bloated bonuses. Eric A is awful too. Our people are good but our top management is abysmal.
Why this is applicable to US only ?
Why not to India or Poland ?
Yeah you can certainly push back by not showing up to the building on November 6th.
Just stay home and do your job. If enough people do that, then they couldnt possibly fire everyone.
Or just find a new job and if anyone asks why you’re leaving state it’s because of the 4 day RTO that the U.S. is doing but not India or Poland.
They're just trying to push people out by these moves. They had already said not following your persona would be grounds for termination so if they not happy with that outcome they could take action. This is BS. If you can work at any location and not sit with your team, it's obvious what their reasons for this are. They want you to quit
Is there a way where the employees could push back at this mandate as a whole? Its already ridiculous that they pay us low wages and then force us back into the office when cost of living sky rocketed post pandemic. Im pretty sure all levels outside of the MC are pi---d.

The company can track you by using these two methods.
They can tell if you logged into a company pc at your home or a company pc in the building.
Second all workers have an Id badge which you need to gain access to the building and to various parts of the building.
How are they going to keep track of who’s going into the office and who’s not?
Remember as I have said in other post, they been outsourcing and doing layoffs, brining in H1 B workers for the last 18 years to cut cost.
This back to the office is probably a new plan, you give your notice and the company is thrill. They save money by you leaving plus since you quit they do not have to give you a severance package.
Those of us still working at State Street come the week of Nov 6, we should just continue to work at home. Do not go into the office. Send a message loud and clear.
In most cases people are more than 150% productive when working from home, they are not happy with that as the spreadsheets are designed to handle 50% productivity only. or else your name shows up in Red for being over productive. Sorry being sarcastic here, it is back to school days, soon there will be attendance taken and there will be assembly run by senior management, who need to justify their travel perks
If you were hired with an OSL agreement you’re safe
Your persona has been negated and you need to return to the office 4 days
The Persona question is directly answered in the FAQ included in the email
What does this mean for everyone with fully remote personas? OSL?
The mail said - We don't want to fire people but we want to fire people.
Not sure why they need in-office presence in North America when they are moving most positions to APAC and EMEA. My team has 1 person[me] in US and 10 others in different geographies. So zoom from work with all the noise/bin in office instead of the peace at home.
"People will quit in droves." Seems like that is the goal. One of the stated corporate strategy goals is to raise stock price (how is that a strategy as opposed to a result of a strategy?) Headcount redux will surely provide an automatic boost there since nothing else has worked, right???
I am telling my staff this morning.
Think an email to non-managers will go out today with it being the main topic on tomorrow mornings all employees call.
When will managers be telling their staff about this?
People will quit in droves.
Saw that tonight. The FAQs basically says your persona is meaningless and you have to come back regardless.
