Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Employees who do nothing

There are no such people on my team. Each one of us works much more than the normal amount of work for one employee. Some have health problems due to overload.

That's why I wonder where you see those "employees who do almost nothing", because ATT is draining all of us and not sparing anyone (except maybe those in higher positions).

I often follow this forum and it is interesting to me how persistently some people point out that they are the ones who are hard workers, while their colleagues are mostly slackers. That's ridiculous.

Me - I have done nothing for the last three years- I just have to make sure my light on Ms Teams don’t turn yellow . It’s sad because my brain is wasting , but I can’t complain .

If you think the company doesn't monitor systems and keystrokes, you are clueless. My unit has done it since 2018.

Working in the Central Office is busier than ever. Used to cover 1 office, now we cover multiple office and have to prioritize tickets, it’s hard to keep up. Company is not replacing CO ET’s due to attrition, hiring freezes or surpluses.

It’s slower this time of year, more so this particular year due to the company putting budget restrictions on new jobs and spending. It’s because of not making their projections with Wall St. mid-year, which were missed by $2 billion. I’m sure the Exec’s won’t get or take a bonus this year, hahaha! But you can expect layoffs to make up for it like always, who pays for the poor decisions and results?

That’s why you shouldn’t be surprised at a surplus. You have it all figured out.

Team????
Sure thing. What's your jersey number?
Newsflash-you will never do enough. So don't try. They'll always want more.
We have little work...but even if we did, I can only do what I can do.
If there are no jobs, that's on them. Not my job to find work. I still get paid.
If there are 50 troubles in the pool at the end of my shift because they got rid of the Jr. techs, I'm still gong home.
It's simply not my problem.
Why do you make it yours?

Don't kid yourself, the company isn't monitoring how many strokes of your keyboard you make each hour or day. That's preposterous and nobody really has the time to do that! My computer sits idle for hours upon hours per day due to lack of work and I do not feel threatened one iota!

I would agree with OP. We work so hard in our group. We're down 20% of our personnel and were working day and night when they were here. Now, it's non-stop working all day, everyday. If I were in a group and were doing nothing, I would be worried about my job. The company knows how much you are on your computer, how much typing is happening, etc.
