Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Jersey City: SIMON is "kicking" Sears out. They are NOT reopening.

Whomever mentioned this a week or so ago on here was correct. The signs that were posted stated there was an "issue" so the store had to close temporarily. The "issue" is that SIMON is making them move out. Like soon. Like in two days soon. I'm taking the light rail over to Newport Center Mall tomorrow to take pics.

My only question is when Simon told Sears to move out did they say "Simon says". Because if they don't say "Simon says" then Sears doesn't have to do anything.

@5vgv+1ey4if3G Monkees, of course! I remember that song. Anyway he must have either taken that train, or maybe OP was so enamored by the Jersey City Sears that he camped out Over-Night in there to film the elevators all Night. Hopefully he uploads some pictures of either the train, or elevator, whichever he chose to ride. 🙄🙄🤦‍🥱♂️😏😉😆😁🤔

Looks like the OP took the wrong train to Newport mall and got lost. He must have taken the MIDNIGHT train to Georgia, instead. Bummer, I was hoping he would return with his imaginary "pictures" of Tony Soprano, "kicking" Sears out in 2 Days. Such a shame that I missed that event, which "supposedly" should have happened 3 Days ago.

Y'all are too much, man, LMAO. Where do y'all even come up with this sh1t?

It's always painful when the people you love betray you like you're just a garbage. I and my wife live in a circle of just the two of us and my wife was travelling to Germany on a business trip and I was in the U.S alone . After two months I realized my wife have changed she hardly call me I tried to spy on her phone and see what's wrong I used (HACKTRUTH Hacked team) and I have access to her phone with just the use of her phone number. HACKTRUTH team opened my eyes and I realized my wife had another husband in Germany . I felt betrayed and now I'm filling a divorce thanks to Hacktruth hacking team for helping me. contact them today for better change hack.truth77 at g mail . com

Sorry, several errors I made below. When he gets "found", not "Fund". I meant "he'll post those pics". I meant "I'm sure I could beat", and I was being sarcastic, obviously. Sorry for the strange errors.

@3cdd+1ey4if3G I'm sure he would, but it appears he got lost in that "rail" car on the way to Newport Mall, LMAO. When he gets fund, I'm sure he' post those "pics". I'm sure I got beat Lebron James one on one too. I could Win the Powerball Lotto also. All 3 of these scenarios are equally as likely to happen.

If this is true, all you need to do is post a photo of the closing signs inside or outside the store. Until you do that, this is at best an unverified rumor.

*Woops, typo, I meant "what's the point" below, not "pint", and I accidentally used "maybe" twice in 1 sentence. Sorry! Maybe I had a lot of Cold "Pints" so I couldn't spell "point" correctly, wink wink wink.

I'm really not trying to be insulting, but OP (who is probably the elevator dude), what's the point of this? What do you get from this trolling? Genuinely trying to ask for your perspective here to see what makes you tick. It certainly doesn't put any Money in your pocket. What is your benefit from all this? What is your angle? Is it that you're just bored, and this is the only human interaction you get?
I mean, hey, to each his own, but I'd rather spend Time with my wife and family, Watching movies or whatever, than sitting in front of a computer inventing fake store closings. I honestly feel bad if you don't have a wife/husband/bf/gf to spend Time with in New Year's Season.
My family was having so much fun, that the last thing on my mind would be to spend my Time, to invent an elaborate hoax post like this. Obviously, any of us can walk into that mall and figure out that you're just straight-up lying. So again, what's the pint? What do you gain by this?
When I have some real news, I enjoy sharing it with others to share Knowledge. But I would gain nothing by sharing fake information. Maybe it's a ki-k of yours. But nobody else likes it. Just inventing a fake closing from the Air, just to have something to post, would do absolutely nothing for me. There will eventually be some real closings to post. Why not just wait for them? There's plenty of stuff to Watch on TV now. Do you like football? Boxing? Basketball? Movies? All of the above are playing right now. Go out, Talk to someone, get a gf or a bf. Have a family to spend Time doing things with. Maybe pick up a hobby or play a sport. Join a gym, maybe. Make some friends at work (if you have a job). Go out and have a few Cold Ones with your buddies. Or maybe volunteer your Time to a Charity maybe. Help some poor kids out at your local soup kitchen or whatever. There is so much you can do, other than just sitting around posting idi0tic fake store closings. Think about it man. I'm writing this for your own good. Expand your horizons. There is plenty of stuff you could get involved with. Just stop posting this trash. It's beyond gotten old by now. Nobody is falling for it. You're just being ridiculed here. I realize this is perhaps the only human interaction you get, but only you can do something about that. Whatever your hobbies are, photography, elevators, bird Watching, chess, tennis, you name it, there are other people who share those interests. Find some (this is easy to do online) clubs for like minded people and really, find something to do. Make this your resolution. Happy New Year.

"We're eagerly waiting"? Who is "WE"? Write for yourself, you're one person, not a "we". And as so eloquently stated, a few posts down, people have to start realizing that Transformco is a privately held company. Eddie can keep or not keep any store open for any reason or no reason at all. Just because he closed Massapequa, for example, does not mean he was kicked out. Maybe the store wasn't Profitable, maybe he didn't like the red clam sauce at the local pizzeria there, or h3ll, maybe he doesn't like the spelling of the word Massapequa.
** He can close any store he wants without giving us a reason, and actually, he doesn't even have to Tell us that he IS closing the store. Maybe he wants to close it and turn it into a spa for his girlfriend or a playground for his kids (if he has any). WHO CARES?????? It's his private business. It doesn't mean it's anything sensational as in, being kicked out "IN LIKE 2 DAYS". Come on now, tone down the clickbait. Regardless, we're about 40posts in here, and there is still not a single link to this store closing. Link up, or shut up. I'll believe it when someone links it. Happy New Year, Time to celebrate.

@1adb+1ey4if3G Ya, except EVERY SINGLE prior Kmart or Sears closing in NJ has been covered by some or the other media outlet. So suddenly, they cared about every prior one, but...but....but.... but stopped caring about the last one? Just stop.

Did you see the amount of coverage that every "last closing in a state" got in the past? There are (google it) about 100 articles about the last Kmart in CA closing, and the last one in MI closing, etc.. Every prior Sears closing in NJ had multiple articles. But now, (if) the last Sears in NJ were closing, then we get radio silence from the media? Sorry, not buying it. Jersey City Sears is not closing. You can go in there and shop right now if you wanted (but hurry because the mall closes early New Years Eve). But they ARE open.
The media likes sensationalism because it gets clicks (or sells papers, for those who still buy them). Whenever the last ANYTHING is closing, there will be articles.

@1xnf+1ey4if3G They weren't "booted out", you dolt. Ed Lampert just decided he didn't want to operate those stores anymore. Quit looking for sensationalism. This isn't the Godfather movie. Nobody made Eddie an "offer he can't refuse". Sheesh, people. A lease doesn't have to end for Ed to decide he doesn't want to run a particular store anymore. It's his privately owned company, he can do whatever the fk he wants with it.

  • * He can choose to sell a store to a liquidator, or alternatively, if he has another store nearby to transfer stuff to, he can choose to do that. He-l, he can transfer the stuff to his own backyard if he wants, or give it to the homeless guy down the road. It's his property he can do what he wants with it. Learn. Anyway, this store is NOT currently closing. Still waiting for a shred of evidence.
**** This is the last Sears in NJ. You would think, if it WERE closing (it isn't), several media outlets would have published stories about it by now, online. It isn't closing, they won't be emptying out in the next 10 Hours. Relax people, nothing to see here.

Happy New Year!

@1xnf+1ey4if3G Oh please. Those stores were vacated that way ONLY because there were other stores nearby to transfer merchandise to, and Eddie decided it would be more Cost effective, than to sell those stores to a liquidator for Pennies on the Dollar. Astor Place is turning into a grocery store (google it), and as for the others, Eddie just decided he didn't want to run those stores anymore. It's a private company he owns. Just because he decides to close Massapequa or whatever, doesn't mean he is being "kicked out". He just made a business decision to close some stores and transfer their merchandise elsewhere. He didn't get kicked out in "like like like like like 2 Days" as the OP wrote. Grow up.

@1mln+1ey4if3G I agree, but just thinking out loud, what 12 Year old would give a sh1t about Sears or Kmarts LOL? I Know some 30 Year olds who never heard of either brand. That 12 Year old's parents, should get him or her involved in some sports or other recreation, because it's not healthy obsessing over Sears at any age, but especially for a kid. Heck, as much as I hate video games, I'd prefer a kid to be obsessed with those, instead of freaking lame @ss Sears.

@1vtj+1ey4if3G Then tell me the story behind Sears being forced to vacate the Massapequa location or Kmart being booted out of the Astor Place and Bronx locations in a matter of days and not months, as you claim "they always do". Urban Edge doesn't seem to be in any hurry to lease the two properties they own so there must be some other reason....

We're eagerly waiting for your response.

@1ofe+1ey4if3G Sure they are. It is pretty easy to glean when a lease is ending. And of course that poster won't provide a link because he doesn't have one. He was a complete idi0t for posting that. If a lease was ending and a store had to be vacated by TODAY, the liquidators would have been there at least 2 Months ago. The store wouldn't be making FB posts YESTERDAY showing a store full of merchandise. It's 2 PM out east. You Tell me how they would empty an entire store in 10 Hours. I Know, I Know, don't feed the bears. But ya, links or it didn't happen.

Post ID: @1mln+1ey4if3G

I’ll bottom line this from the perspective of common sense, short and sweet: if they are to be out of this building in a day or two they would either be packing up to leave by now, or would be well into liquidation at this point. Judging from the posts on their FB page, I see neither of these activities currently in progress. You be the judge...

Yep, as mentioned, there is indeed a post on their FB page from 12 Hours ago. This store is absolutely NOT closing, as of now. Please stop repeatedly posting that it is. Nobody is getting "kicked out" Sporanos style, there are no Godfather movie reenactments coming, nothing. Just business as usual and the store is remaining open for now. The end.

@1lkk+1ey4if3G Listen to yourself. If the lease were indeed ending on Dec. 31, as you claimed, wouldn't they have had liquidators in there 2 Months ago? How will they empty an entire store in 1 Day? Never mind, why am I feeding the bears? This is a nonsense thread, end of story.

Link? And even if it was true (I'll believe it when I see it), that means a lease is ending. OK, fine, but that's a far cry from being "kicked out", "Like soon. Like in two Days soon", as the OP wrote in his clickbait title.

That is simply a lease being chosen not to be renewed which happens often in retail. Nobody is being "kicked out".
And again, that is all IF this is true. I still, have not seen a single, solitary link about it, and when I called the mall management office during their work Hours, they were not aware of any such thing and directed me to ask Sears management or corporate offices, for any information. So color me skeptical, still.

Saw this in an earlier post @OP+1dkdZmLa

but it still applies, so I'll copy it here:

Since there is a lot of confusion here, with people asking the same stup!d questions, and making the same stup!d troll posts, here is a neat, simple, flow chart to answer all your queries about closings. If you want to Know, if "XYZ" store is closing,

Step 1:
Is "XYZ" store listed here:
https://jobs.sears.com/en-US/search?keywords=%22store%20closing%22&location=

or here?
https://www.sb360.com/select-projects/events/sears-list/

If yes, go to step 2. If no, go to step 3.

Step 2: It's closing, so shut up and stop asking.

Step 3: It's not closing, so shut up and stop asking.

End of chart. Simple.
