Is that an exclusive deal ? Is MTK also in the game for iPhone?

Q aggressive one-trick pony way of charging, using royalty, customers like Apple per handset will eventually disappear.
After that, the future looks bleak for Q
I currently work at mediatek also worked at Qualcomm for 6 years, and i cant help but laugh at the hubris which some of the comments reflect, in the next few years , ya’ll will know how much apple really hates QC.
@2qxv: US customers may care, but ROW would not. SS used Exynos in EU and EMEA including South Korea and HiSi was in the mix as well, even in premium tier.
BTW: MTK modem is not so bad, it's not inferior in any aspect other than comparing for peak Tput, stability is better than Q's one
@1fnr: We are all Q fanboys here and work hard for success. But let us not Dunning Kruger ourselves. Get access to Thelander's magazine. It is not a company wide subscription as Thelander does not allow it (and it is expensive) - you need to be on the group, get approved and added by Thelander himself. But hopefully, if you ask nicely, someone will show you a report. Trust me. You may get access to an internal report, but it is not very accurate - to put it nicely.
MTK has a presence in the US, and the fruit company doesn't need a high-performance modem. 5G is sailing on a hype/speculation, trying to build a big tunnel w/o water, we may need 5G in another 5 years, the industry is not yet ready for 5G, and LTE is more than enough...5G is a big failure. Q may need Sanjay Jha to make the right decisions
If you just asked yourself- “Will I buy my iPhone with a mediatek junk”, we will not have to read stupid things here
I don't think AAPL will use MTK as vendor for any product due to them being a non-US company. However, just to compare modem performance, read up the highly respected Mike Thelander's report.
Nope. Q can no longer dictate exclusive deals. Those days are gone.
@1gsm+1p8QAVH5 Why is that?
There is absolutely no way Apple would buy from mediatek. If Apple dislikes working with QCOM they would despise working with MTK.
