Magooism - “We only sell one product!”
This is classic Magoo and one of the many things he’s said that proves what a terrible out of touch leader he has been way before he was ever CEO.
Magoo has done nothing but fail upwards. He’s received credit for things he never did, and under his watch as CTO, VMware lost lots of market share and incurred huge amounts of technical debt. He has long been under the delusion that we were competitive with cloud providers. He is in part the reason we are being sold to a company like Broadcom and the sad this is he profits from his failure. It’s simply hard to watch him and all the other useless executives get paid millions to fail the business technically and financially all while operationalizing full on discrimination.
If whining helps raise awareness, then please whine.
The only way to change this is with government legislation. There have been some good signs, the Portland pay ratio law.

Sadly, Congress is too busy devolving into moody toddlers. There was a chance when democrats controlled all three branches of govt - but they didn’t do their job either.

Yea, it isn’t just VMware, it is everywhere and it is flat out wrong.
If you don’t care what this does to society, then I guess you don’t mind living in a country that has extreme income inequality and less taxes for the rich than the common man.

Seriously, is this your first job? Literally, every organization is like this. C-levels are too separated from what the day-to-day work is. VMware and Raghu are not special. This is the norm. Even in the gov and military we griped about these things.
I get wanting to whinge but realize that it's just that. Getting your knickers in a twist because of decisions made way above your pay scale is on you.
