Post ID: @2yrp+1sDspe7X, by giving severance even as the ship has almost reached the bottom will help keep the feds at bay. It’s leadership’s smoke and mirrors trick. Nobody is fooled!

@2kbm+1sDspe7X Put down the kool aid and step back for a second. If you think this ship ain’t sinking, you must already be on the bottom of the ocean yourself.

@1fzy+1sDspe7X If they were going under soon why would they bother to give people severance in a layoff?

We were told we won’t get our email from hr with out “package” until Friday. Does anyone from previous rounds know if dental is a part of cobra? Typically I don’t think it would be but since our dental is covered by Cigna like our health insurance, I was wondering if it might be.

The company is not going to close its doors. Despite all the doom and gloom on here its a profitable company outside of the debt. They are in the process of trying to restructure in a way to get their debt refinanced so they can continue on. If the are unable to do so, they will likely declare Chapter 11 Bankruptcy which provides protection from their creditors and a chance to reorganize while maintaining business operations.

So in a show of solidarity we all take off on the same day. I lived in a country that took from its people and once we stopped they had to hear us. If you are scared to all stand together and take one day off and stop all work. If they don’t get the picture we do it again and again. If we stand by and do nothing they will continue to sc--w us

Any leadership given the ax?

The company is most likely preparing to close its doors. And soon. Which is why they all took such huge bonuses. they gut the company, take as much money as possible, lay off everyone little by little, then shut down the company or have everything outsourced. Typical classic steps when a new ceo is brought into a dying company

Why shouldn’t we be able to use our UPTO on 6/7 to reject the day that the top 4 will be receiving huge payouts

I don’t know if going on strike is id--tic, per se. you just need enough guaranteed people to commit and that’s the tricky part. They can’t fire 1,000 people that took one day off to show their frustration, right? Or could they, ha!

My manager states he is untouchable. And I want to write to someone but fear repercussions. He instills fear in our whole program.

Would love for an explanation on layoffs. It’s unfortunate but far too many ADM/SSM boast about their 120k+ salary while others work triple as hard to make far less

COBRA at no cost is definitely still part of the package.

Oh yea COBRA is on the table but it’s expensive and a change up nonetheless. Thank you for the kind words!

@pxe+1sDspe7X no COBRA coverage? Just "you have 10 days to figure out your healthcare before it's gone?"
Curious as I was in the October '23 layoffs and we at least got COBRA :(

Sorry about the situation friend, someone said on here during the height of my layoffs, "They may have kicked you out the door, but the building is on fire anyway." Best of luck to you and all those impacted today

severance was two weeks pay for every year, plus an additional 3 weeks. Benefits are suspended at the end of the month and this company is insensitive of how the lack of health insurance on such short notice will impact us.

HR and the SE VP that were in the room were heartless robots in delivering this news. They’ve done it enough times to be good at it.

their emails are such canned nonsense at this point. I got laid off today as well but they're keeping me on for a month until they officially lay me off. I'm in global support as well.

I got canned today! Nearly a decade working for this company. I was in placement.

@gvf+1sDspe7X short answer is yes. Many people cannot risk their income and benefits for an action that will likely yield little to no results and could lead to termination. What would a strike do for employees or the company? 🤔

At this stage, I've heard SSMs, SSAs, Placement, and SE Directors are being impacted. Curious about what severance is looking like this round.

2Udx is more of a layoff company than an “education” company at this point. The only thing they help people learn is how to update their resumes.

Dear Student Experience Team,

Today marks a challenging moment for us. Following a thorough evaluation of business needs, operational efficiencies and spans of control, we have decided to reduce the size of our team. These decisions were not taken lightly and were made with careful consideration of our team's needs and the demands of our evolving business.

Those whose roles have been directly affected have already received a calendar invitation from 2U HR for an individual conversation today. It's a day of difficult transitions, but be assured, our focus is on treating everyone with the utmost respect and providing the support needed during this period.

Given the current environment and challenges we face, efficient operations are a top priority. In the past, we have managed staffing through usual attrition and reallocating team members to new programs. However, based on staffing requirements for our current programs and near-term program launches, further action was necessary.

I have the deepest gratitude to our departing colleagues and thank them for their dedication and contributions to 2U, our students and partners. Saying goodbye is never easy, and we wish each of them success in their future endeavors. Let's also come together to support them through our professional networks.

For those remaining with us, I understand that today's events are challenging. Our leadership team is committed to open communication, transparency and providing support across the organization during this time. Some members of our teams will shift to new managers or program assignments. Leaders will be in touch with you today and will arrange team meetings in the days ahead to ensure a smooth transition. We will also bring the full team together on Thursday, once new teams have connected, to talk about our path forward. Expect to see an invitation later today.

Despite these adjustments, the commitment to our mission and to delivering high quality outcomes for learners is unwavering. Let's support one another and continue to drive our mission forward. Together, we will navigate these changes, adapt and emerge stronger.

Thank you for your understanding and dedication.
