With advent of GitHub Copilot and ChatGPT based solutions, do we need to send/share code to offshore ? Those activities can be automated with minimal effort in onsite?

@1fyq+1raOzQFe I agree. It take a lot of work to get generative AI to work properly. It's not an "out of the box" type of solution.
I would argue that chat gpt is at the level of the average coder in Mumbai when it comes to end to end execution and time spent managing him/her.
The amount of oversight required to ensure code quality / integrity is intact would actually require additional human oversight. Moreover, why are you centering out a population of highly skilled labor which from a cost benefit standpoint provides the firm with a lot of value? I doubt you even have experience with any AI devtools
I do not think you understand software development.
Copilot and ChatGPT are decent tools with a lot of issues, and shouldn't be overvalued at this point in time. And this question seems to deeply undervalue the work of (at least some) offshore folks. The tech just isn't quite there yet.
