Thread regarding VISA Inc. layoffs

Product Layoffs at Visa

This month, the Product Org laid off quite a few people—not sure if other teams are facing the same. A comment someone made about targeting those with 'high standards' who push back against certain 'rules' seems to hold true. It also looks like remote employees, especially those leadership assumes wouldn’t return to an office if required, are being impacted. Performance doesn’t seem to be a factor—most of the people I know who were affected were high performers. Tough times at Visa with all these hush hush layoffs. Might be a good time for all of us to start exploring options, just in case.

Impacted teams: leaders in Visa Acceptance Solutions, Consumer Payments, Client Services. To come: EU leadership (yes Charlotte) and product, VAS middle management (Senior Directors and VP), AP merchant teams. They will also streamline talent from acquired companies (Tink, Pismo, Currencycloud etc).

They conceal lies under a sugarcoated fake projects. Many should face legal scrutiny for filing multiple H1B applications under different names, constituting immigration fraud. Like termites, they erode systems and, when exposed, misuse the term 'minorities' as a shield despite holding powerful roles in major corporations.

Sadly we tend to blame "minorities" "immigrants" for USA job loses in general.

Key innovators are NOT allowed to change anything in VISA. If you speak ill of the existing Indian Empire in VISA Tech org, you will be truncated and thrown in the trash-can.

How many of the casualties in this batch of lay-offs are Indians vs non-Indians ? Anyone know ?

I believe some corporate companies are NOW expecting YOU to do the work of 2-3 people for the price of ONE. Atlassian and BOX for example expect you to also do administrative work on top of leading a team of marketing. Remember we need to Add Value, Value can mean many things...

Tbh the workload and expectations at this company are so outrageous and out of reality, that taking it personally is out of question. As always, just play the "I will do the needful sir" card until they lay you off. This is by far not a serious and professional company, and if you've been cut, consider yourself privileged for being out of such a toxic and cancerous environment.

Anyone is Replaceable does not matter if you are 'Top' performer. Departments need to cut regardless...

Why would they remove top performers?

Sometimes it is better to have an Honest conversation with your manager if the department needs to trim instead of making vague, ambiguous stories to put on the performance evaluation. Take things with a grain of salt and Do not take manager feedback 'personally' Believe in yourself and move on

From what I’ve heard, the impacted teams include Consumer Payments, Finance, CSM, the Rules Team, and some HR folks. The lowest severance I’ve heard of is two months, plus another two months to find an internal role, but some people were told they also had to return their computers a month after transitioning their work. It doesn’t seem consistent, and I think it depends on tenure and performance reviews.

A couple of people said they dealt with two to three months of micromanagement, random "feedback emails," and being isolated before getting let go.

Can you please provide more details? Are these people being offered severance? What timeframe between RTO/Micromanagement to termination of these employees? Hows the process?

Sharing an update—I’ve now heard of even more people impacted, and it’s clear that many of the top experts across teams are being let go. These individuals have been key innovators, shaping the industry with their expertise. If other companies are looking for truly exceptional talent, now is the time.
