Thread regarding CVS layoffs

Discount card

My boss told me, when she said as laying me off, that my discount card would work forever and I went to use it today and it didn't work and I called HR and they said for those people that got laid off the discount would end

If you're retirement eligible, you have the discount for life. That being said, I'm not sure why you'd want it. Walmart has far lower prices, even after you factor in the employee discount.

Let it go its like everything else someone thinks there's going to be universal healthcare. Try sunset Healthcare most likely. Christian Science is the way to go.

I couldn’t agree more. I worked for them for nearly 20 years and was pushed out by a lousy new “leader”. Not fired or laid off, but they deliberately created a work environment so horrible and toxic you would want to leave.

I have not stepped foot in a CVS (or Walgreens for that matter) since and NEVER will. These chain pharmacies do not offer anything compelling or of value that can’t be found elsewhere. If you have a local mom and pop pharmacy go there and support it. F these chains especially CVS

They are expensive and overpriced, understaffed and miserable places to frequent. I will never understand why people still go to them. If you are on maintenance medications you can get them delivered to your house. If you need some thing acute, there are other options.

As far as front store merchandise goes, you can literally go anywhere else, pay a lot less and have a lot less aggravation doing it.

No offense to the original poster here, but what does the discount actually achieve? Even with it, CVS is more expensive for front store merchandise than Walmart or your grocery store.

Who cares, the CV- stores where I live are d—gusting. I will be transferring all my scripts to BCBS preferred pharmacy since that is my insurance now. So sad, I loved my job, coworkers, and manager. But with way those of us that were laid off were treated, I have no desire to return to C-S or their stores.

I believe you need to officially retire to be eligible for the discount card after termination (age 55+ and 10 years of service or 60+ and 5 years of service).

If you are 55, it will work forever. Honestly, they kept the card active for 55+ and deactivated if you are younger.

@1myr+1phr9CY OP's story is essentially "A told me X, then B told me Y." Not sure why you are mad at me that the OP had a common experience.
