@1esa+16lB4HqN Boeing has ALWAYS maintained ownership of all tooling. Tooling was never transfered to Spirit, just possession.

Still to bucking rivets. Leave the business end to the professionals.

Just an FYI...I AM a day 1 guy and still work at Spirit.
FYI...ALL brand new tooling is TAGGED as BOEING PROPERTY!

@1nea+16lB4HqN currently, Spirit in Wichita is doing everything it did under the Boeing name and then some. They do work for Embraer, Northrop, and Airbus. If Boeing took over some of theose contracts would be terminated. That costs money and it is less work. Boeings benefits are better, that costs money. The unions in Wichita have actually gotten more greedy since the Boeing days, that costs pain in the a–.

The idea you have of selling the 37 to Spirit makes more sense, but they need a facility with a runway. They don't own the old BDS facility on the east side of Oliver anymore and for they did, its not large enough for a full assembly line. They would have to build an assembly line and that costs money.

Taxpayers in Wichita have grown tired of giving tax breaks and then getting nothing from it. It's happened with EVERY aircraft manufacturer there and Boeing was the worst offender. Spirit is a little better, but not much.

I can see the sale of the 37 line only if Boeing is immediately working on a replacement for it and a lot of other things fall into place. But it is nit impossible.

Actual and on-going negotiations involve Boeing selling the manufacturing rights to Spirit Aero to be the new Final Assembly of the 737 product line. Boeing is also negotiating royalties for all future assembled and delivered commercial 737's from Spirit. Boeing will retain the production line for the Poseidon program.

Part of the negotiations include terminating the Boeing China completion facility/plant at Zhoushan, Zhejiang province, China. Additionally, new negotiations have started between Spirit Aero and Embraer. Negotiations include starting an additional 737 final assembly line at Embraer's factory in Brazil.

You guys must be like 25. You can't remember 2005 when Spirit Aerosystems in Wichita WAS Boeing

They left for a reason, they are not coming back. Get over it.

I've been hearing the same thing...That there will be a merger.
Not only that, Since Boeing no longer is chained to Washington state for its main operations it can move everything anywhere.
If you think that's crazy, look at what and who boeing is. They have the ability and the power to go anywhere due to the government handling anything they want.

I agree with an earlier post stating that Boeing is on the move and possibly south Carolina, Kansas or Texas as they will be back into the bond money.

Nobody should tell Boeing that it would be to expensive to relocate cause any state would pay all moving expenses to have boeing tax revenues.
