Thread regarding Teradata Corp. layoffs

RIF's happening today in Australia

Heard of several today in Australia. Unsure of how many in total, but I suspect the europeans are going to get theirs today and then the US in a few horus time. Oct 31 seems to be the date for RIF's

When management make mistakes, employees get laid off and they get bonuses and hire more to prop themselves up higher.

I got laid off from the Australian business last week (early Dec). It doesn't make sense to me when the customer is asking for more help from us, we get rid of the CSM on the account, get rid of the Services exec and then tell the customer we are committed to helping them succeed. We have a sales director who yells at everyone around him and treats people like sh1t and as a result a culture that just stinks compared to when I joined.

Was so happy to walk out the door, leave my laptop behind and begin a new life.

Hearing that another AE in the Australian business just quit. Apparently when you rif the best people in the organisation down there, you can't expect the others to stick around for long. The dominos continue to fall down there.

Its now a skeleton business.

So the Aussies down under now have zero leadership in place. They've got a washed up Texan trying to hold the ship together and have lost all the great talent that actually knew how to sell to customers. Saving grace by the sounds of it is LR leaving them which they will breathe a sigh of relief.

Its a shame as that geo used to perform really well.

Hot off the press!

LR is stepping down by end of year. After all of the doom and gloom news this week, it has brought a smile to many in my team that someone so toxic to the organisation will be leaving.

It hasn't taken long for the high fiving in the office here once news got around of his leaving. I say good riddance to rubbish. It will be hilarious if he intends to do a final farewell tour around the A/NZ offices and no one turns up to his farewell.

Initials of the manager you admire?

One of my colleagues directed me to this page because I feel I need to speak up about what is going on. It's just not right and we are in a state of shock that one of the most admired leaders this company has is being let go. I haven't been here too long but this is not what I signed up for. I had the most awesome manager who when I joined changed my life and inspired belief that I could succeed. Now they are gone, I really don't have much hope for this company any more and am ashamed to say i work for teradata. I need to leave this place as it's like a morgue now.

He is the mist obsequious individual ever sighted in the place. And the bullying claims - behaviour appalling. Says it all about the org that he has survived and been promoted to ‘senior levels’

@1ekh+1pmTUPUI Of course not, he is a protected species. Even with the numerous bullying claims filed against him over the years. For someone who hasn't worked in sales before he seems to be able to stay afloat with his head just above the water and not get noticed by those higher up that he is in fact drowning and not actually swimming.

Has the charlatan who hit VP - Last Rider on the storm been hit? He was very close to the chop circa 2010 when his behaviours were the catalyst for a dysfunctional PS org.

One only has to look at the number of linkedin updates in the last 24 hours to figure it out. It's not a concidence when you see EMEA, US and APJ staff updating their profiles within the space of a few hours.

Is all this true ?! There are plenty of rumours going around but no one’s giving even one single estimate number of people being RIFed across regions. Rumors, rumors, rumors. Those who really hnow should talk, all the rest should shut it up and work harder to save this beautiful company…I have been brutally fired from last winter 😂

If it's who I see has updated their LinkedIn profile then that is a big hit to their business down there. Old school TD, but seriously top tier from my interactions with them over the past few years. One of the few i could actually respect.Suspect those above him only want drones in their business to do their dirty work and not someone who makes them look incompetent.

A prominent, very successful pre-sales architect (or leader of) in Aus on LinkedIn this afternoon looking for next gig. Welded on TD, very positive to work with. Gone.

My manager is affected. Absolutely one of the best managers I've ever had in my career. We're all pretty gutted and will follow him out the door to where he ends up next

Sounds like a Teradata Halloween horror story.

Removing all of the experience and being left with the duds won't keep the company afloat for long. At least the market is now waking up to this train wreck as the share price is being marched downwards. Q4 results are going to be a bloodbath. Looking at the numbers now, it's not pretty with zero new customers. Massive erosion being felt across all customers moving to cloud. Giving away 80% discounts and free migrations just to move to cloud does not stop a customer moving off. It's just easier to migrate off Teradata once you have moved to cloud which is what customers are doing once migrated.

Waking up to this now. I don't expect many in my team to be around by the end of the day. Several have 30 min meetings today. Anyone noticeable from Emea or APJ gone?

It's happening in EMEA now too. It won't be finished today.
