It's time to throw the last chairs on the deck before we go down. It's been an interesting ride. Let's go down together

Vendors are still not getting paid, so they are not shipping and therefore nothing is being bought.

Because apparently no one reads the home page:

The Layoff.com
News, personal experiences, rumors and speculations about layoffs at your company

TheLayoff.com is live since January 31, 2009!

TheLayoff.com is a simple discussion board for all of us who would like to learn more about the rumors or possibility of job cuts in our company.

The workforce reduction process is inherently secretive and plagued with rumors. Companies release little or no details while planning such resource actions. On the other hand, the lives of each of us may be greatly impacted by these top-secret decisions - hence all the anxiety that workers may experience.

Enter TheLayoff.com - The purpose of this site is to provide a space for anyone who'd like to discuss the possibility, likelihood or impacts of layoffs in a company of interest.

So no, you don't need links. They're nice to have, but not necessary. You can also speculate on how downsizing or restructuring will play out. That's what the board is intended to do.

Anonymity is there to facilitate "whistleblowing."

So just calm down. Will people post bad information? Sure. Downvote and move on. You're not always going to get a link anymore because Transformco is private and the numbers we're talking about are likely not meeting WARN requirements. The final phase of Sears' demise is going to be a death from a thousand paper cuts.

Since we are posting about management that has been let go. It's not about a closing store. It's about LAYOFFS. That's what this site is for. We were told at store level who was let go today, yeah the big wigs that were LAID OFF.
I don't know why someone wants to try and pretend they are in charge of this free to use, anonymous website. It's kind of sad and pathetic.

Newsflash. Layoffs can occur without a store closing.

Also a few hundred Hometown (and Outlet?) stores of various formats, but I don't know how much management is needed for them.

34 kmarts and 80 large sears in mainland... does anyone really think so many layers of upper management are even necessary?

If you're still there, get out asap! It could take months to land a job depending on your experience level. Don't wait for a layoff. Chances are, you're not compensated well anyway.

With all the many reorganization’s happening this last year, could you provide some names of those let go.
Many of us now on the outside, may know of these people, but not necessarily their positions.
