Managers seem to have entered push push push mode.. Their survival instinct has kicked in... My manager was decent but suddenly turned into a passive aggressive micro manager.... ugh... I wish the day grow long today. I am so not looking forward to work with my manager next week....

It should be miserable being him... Literally everyone in NSRL I spoke to hates him so much. He is big on creating BS and talking bS. If he has a little decency he would cancel today's party... ugh.
Mn has been hiring and firing to consolidate his position for almost two decades now. He devalues and disempowers the innovative scientists, forcing them out while hiring and elevating his pals. He makes ego driven decisions and the underlings that actually care for the work and believe in the lab have to clean up the mess. You’re right he is not about science and hasn’t been for a long time now. Can’t believe any of the bs he spouts.

Make no mistaking. Everyone one knows Nike has a “use and discard culture” , way of treating tenured employees. And yes, no one expects to be there forever, what about some decency, some respect or acknowledgement of a persons contribution? When everyone is swimming in toxic cesspool, high pressure, high stress environment. It becomes a survivor show on an island at best - remember that show? Oh and with leaders such as Matt Nurse at NSRL? What did he do to the guy he replaced? Pushed him out just he like he pushes his underlings out and creating a toxic work place except for a few favorites - so much for led by science!
