For them, it totally depends on what you bring to the table, irrespective of you being American or on a visa
No one is safe. Five thousand people about to be laid off - that's a big base for class action suit in case of any kind of discrimination. So their legal teams have probably already carefully planned "proper" age/gender/ethnicity ratios making sure lawsuits don't happen.
but Americans should get the jobs in their own country....just saying
No one is saying the H1Bs are not great employees.
My manager is here on a visa and she is the absolute greatest supervisor I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
