Quick update, got notified today with 4 of my colleagues in San Ramon to prepare to move to the labs in Austin
I told my manager I need to apply for exemption since I need to continue working from the Bay Area for family reasons, the massage was clear if I don’t show up in Austin by first week of September I will be considered not complying and can lose my job and benefits
I told him I just can’t do the move and he need to figure it out if he really need me to continue with AT&T
I am so worried and very very concerned
Help me with any suggestions what should I do?
“I am not moving from the Bay Area”
Finally some good news!!
Don’t believe anything JS tells you
Only one week after that letter my manager told us we are going to Dallas on September
I am not going
Stanky letter mentioned San Ramon as a hub then all teams working from San Ramon start getting notifications to move out to Dallas Atlanta and Austin
And the real estate office listed the office space we are using for sublease to close the location
I don’t believe anything JS says
This RTO thing is just away to let people go without a lot of attention
Scam scam scam

AI Labs team is moving from San Ramon to Austin, informed by our manager as well
I was informed by my director, all our team. The cloud network architecture are moving from San Ramon to Atlanta before the end of this year, logistics and when he will share in the next two weeks.
I am not moving from the Bay Area
For the person who said no one received the instructions, and it is all talks
If you didn’t receive a notification from your management by now, you are at risk of losing your job, I encourage you to talk to your supervisor and ask why I didn’t receive any notification or instructions yet.
Please give us the details about the info in the letter and which orgs are way ahead of the proposed timeline for send out these notifications?
"im not going anywhere. staying here taking my lump sum and looking for another job in the area i call home for the past 40 years. "
I am with you....
All the engineers from San Ramon office who been notified about the RTO, are all going to Dallas, don’t know why Dallas
So San Ramon is not a hub
Like others have said below I am surprised anyone has been notified of their new location. How were they notified? What are the details / timeline? By when must they decide if they want to move and when is their last date on payroll if they choose not to move?
I don’t recall any org mentioned San Ramon in their plans, the largest groups it&cloud network, labs, security and new products all moving out of San Ramon, don’t know who else will be staying there
People all over this company crossing their fingers for hub location close to them. Wake up folks. You realize that hope is no strategy when it comes to planning your career. Unless you can handle the stress of constantly looking over your shoulder every single 90 days for the rest of your career, update the resume, sharpen up your skill set and be proactive with your career instead of simply being ignorant to the inevitable seismic changes coming…you choose.
im not going anywhere. staying here taking my lump sum and looking for another job in the area i call home for the past 40 years.
I am in Jeremy legg’s org and we are moving from San Ramon to Atlanta, more details will be shared later
I don’t think anyone will stay in San Ramon office
Stanky letter said there are 9 hubs, and San Ramon is one of them.
I am working for San Ramon office since 2013, I hate to see this office closing, my team is moving to Dallas on September
Not every team was notified, many orgs still trying to figure things out or upper management decided not share information yet.
Mg director who is a friend as well is clueless about what is going to happen next, but San Ramon is not a hub if this is the question
San Ramon is a hub. Duh.
San Ramon is not a hub location

Just call the bishop ranch real estate office, you will get the straight answer, our office space is listed for lease already
Too bad, I really liked this building and the lake, San Ramon you will be missed 😔
I remember when AT&T start selling all the office buildings it has in the Bay Area in 2011, it kept two buildings only, the switch building on bush street in San Francisco and an empty building in Oakland downtown, the plan was to consolidate all the north California offices to Oakland downtown in 2015, but the BR convinced AT&T real estate to stay in BR for free until BR renovate and lease the building
San Ramon is not a hub, my friend we will go to Dallas, in away it is more affordable
San Ramon office is closing as soon the bishop ranch finds a sublease, it can be closing next week if this happen
San Ramon employees will report to Dallas or Atlanta
Not gonna order anyone to San Ramon. If you are not currently in one of the seven location then you will be ordered to Dallas or Atlanta only. Some groups are allowing their people who are in San Ramon to stay for now but the plan is to shut it down 2024 or 2025. They’re not going to relo someone there just to relo them to Dallas in a month.
All the engineers from San Ramon office who been notified about the RTO, are all going to Dallas, don’t know why Dallas
So San Ramon is not a hub
The end game for california will be market teams/ retail customer facing only. Not an employer friendly state.
I don’t think AT&T want to keep the floors we use in the BR
Also the BR is struggling to find new tenants for our floors, occupancy rates are very low in the BR buildings
Maybe AT&T can keep the floors for free for sometime
But make no mistake, San Ramon is not a hub location
Who on God's green earth would ever make a double jump? If you are going to jump, jump once to Atlanta or Dallas. It's obvious you have not thought this through!
Real estate office confirmed the floors we are using are listed for sublease
So I am 100% sure, San Ramon is not a hub
Legg said he’ll be out of there soon. Other org trying to use it to save good employees. No consistency.
I don’t know anyone who received the RTO instruction letter yet
Just talks so far
I work from San Ramon, I didn’t receive a RTO letter yet
