If you’re an individual contributor, what is your bonus % you are eligible for when that time comes around?
Any managers want to share theirs as well?
I get 5%.

I'm an IC. Last year my merit was a laughable 1.2%. I told my boss how much of an insult that was and to just put it back in the pool to distribute to someone else. My AIP is 10% which is fine with me, except when my rating is artificially lowered regardless of my actual performance.
I tried to change it every year I was their manager, but it was always denied. It was HR policy that the 2% stayed unless they got a promotion or different job. There was no promotion opportunity in our group.
It’s not like managers set the AIP levels or even have any bit of influence, they are pretty standard within a BU at least.
Managers have much less influence over any performance or compensation related decisions than anyone would expect - at least after SH joined TR.
As a former manager, didn’t you want to bring the straggler earning 2% up to industry standard like the rest of their peers?
Before I was laid off this year I was a manager getting 10%, most ICs I knew got a 10%. One on my team still got the 2% because they didn’t leave the group to find a new job.
@2jaw+1jXmhl40 Thank you, I was not referring to merit increase % but to the AIP (Annual Incentive Plan, not sure if they call it the same thing everywhere). I wasn't putting anyone down, I simply never knew 2% was the ceiling for ICs elsewhere in the company. It's not like they advertise that.
It is true. The person saying 2% is correct for annual bonus for some peeps in Legal. The 2% is the annual target. It is a huge controversial issue for ICs. You can sit right next to someone who gets 8%, doesn’t work OT and is basically a quiet quitter while others work their butts off and can only get the annual target. They don’t care as they continue to layoff so many people and will continue to do so as they plan on who to keep when we move from our location in 2024.
Folks are getting confused with what was asked looks like... those who are saying 2% most likely talking about annual raise not the bonus % they are entitled...BTW, I have seen 8%, 10% and for some 15%....
@1dip+1jXmhl40 - 2%? After 25 years, are you joking? I've never heard of any business unit that got less than 5% if they were eligible for an annual performance incentive.
10% for me as an IC. Is that the cap?
When my position was eliminated in 2018, Directors were eligible for a 20% bonus. I don’t know if the company still offers that percentage.
I’ve been with the company for 25 years and mine is stuck at 2%. I’ve tried to get it raised to the standard 8% (which is given when you’re new to the company) or when you apply and accept a different position within the company. So, my loyalty to my team and company does not pay. I like the team I work with and the job I do but to get the standard percentage I have to risk leaving my team for a different job.
Mgr and above = 15% or more
As an IC, mine was stuck at 2% for many years. This year my target was finally raised to 8%. I know many other ICs had theirs raised to 8-10% years before me.
10% for me as an IC but I’ve seen others have 5% and 2%
