Is there anybody who is 100% sure they will still have their job in a couple of months?

Broadcom person here. Not new news but all one can say with certainty: roles like HR, Finance, Procurement, Corp Marketing... 80% of those people are dead. Toast. Gone.
Hock hates headcount, hates people, and customers. we are the mafia to our customers.
"People with VCDX probably"
Broadcom strategy last time was to move all services out to HCL.
I doubt BC will want a dedicated services BU who's main metric is services margin, vs smaller BU aligned services groups who's goal is to grow consumption through customer enablement. They may want neither, but I can't see them wanting the former and will only want the later if there is data to back their existence.
People with VCDX probably
Hock Tan is definitely safe
If hazard a guess that Customer facing roles that bring in money/revenue (ps, se, etc) and development roles in core tech that BC wants to focus on would be safer than others, but that’s all relative. No one is really that safe.
VP and SVP are a very expense resource, and considering there are over 300+ at VMware, if I were a VP or SVP, I would be looking for another job much like Matt Stepanski SVP of PSO. His last day was Friday last week.
last time i started to count have look under Hr and Finance, i think i stopped counting at 350 and that was just in sales alone
All EUC engineers are safe.
Broadcom operates 32B revenue with 20k employees, which is about $1.6M/employee. VMWare has about 13B in revenue, so Broadcom will keep only around 9k employees from VMWare.
I don't see any way that you could identify any role as 100% safe for all those that currently hold that role. Even if you were able to identify such a role (and that's a big IF), they would still have the option of cutting half those people and making the remaining half carry 2X the workload. Not sure I would define that outcome as "safe".
No and it doesn’t matter what position or level you hold. There will be deeper cuts in obvious areas but everything and I mean everything (especially director, vp and svp) will be drastically reduced. That’s what they did to Symantec and CA. Have you bothered to talk to anybody outside of this board?
CSMs probably
Resources that are billable on a term. BC can't lay off those staff as there are legal implications to not delivering on existing contracts
@tku+1oz2zK60 Think again. Do they suffer the job lost as everybody else with those nice packages ? Common sense.
I think Specialist SE's (all or a portion) are the only ones who are safe at this point

C and SVP levels are pretty safe.
If I tell you yes , would you believe me and enjoy the rest of the day?
no i think is the answer
