Just wondering if anyone else has heard that Bloomingdale’s and Macys or certain Macys stores will be open on Easter Sunday this year….

@1dc LOL Easter is for egg hunting, and Easter bunny photos and eating chocolate eggs… way to make all Christins look bad by being such an extremist but ya… good luck I guess.
Also, it’s volunteers only and a select few locations… so your reaction is just really off but not surprised because religious people are an interesting lot to say the least
My manager just told me today that our location is going to be open on Easter. I wasn’t very thrilled to hear that because me & my family celebrate Easter & I’d rather celebrate it with family than with customers coming into the store to buy something that will still be there the next day. We should be closed that day. I understand that some people don’t celebrate Easter & will come out to the store but people can shop online for 1 day instead of coming into the store. Or at least see what associates agree to work that day & have them work. This is just my opinion & I hope I’m off that day.
And yet, Macys, in a PR move, announces it will be closed (only to the public) on Thanksgiving for that "feel good" appearance of giving its colleagues quality family time on a national holiday. The public, which shops on-line while watching the VERY expensive annual Thanksgiving Day parade, is oblivious to the fact that Macy's is indeed open as colleagues fill those on-line orders. While not mandatory to work, the company at least offers holiday pay. Why hasn't Macy's decided to be open on Christmas? After all, in the Christian community, Easter Sunday is the holiest day on the calendar- not Christmas as many believe. AND on Christmas the stores ARE ACTUALLY CLOSED- NOT EVEN FILLING ON-LINE ORDERS. Yet, here we are, open on Easter Sunday while those very same online shoppers can shop-away at home in their pajamas and bunny slippers while Macy's colleagues worry about perhaps losing their jobs for saying "no" to working Easter Sunday. Shameful.
If those pilots stores do well on Easter Sunday, don't be surprise by next year all stores will open on Easter Sunday.
Oh no! Is Macy's following the same path of Walmart? Opening on Easter Sunday. Don't be surprise if those 18 stores make there sales plan on Easter Sunday.

In malls where there is both Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s in the center, both will be open for Easter Sunday.
Same stores as last year. Very few that will be open.
Take me off the schedule. I am not burning a PTO for that. I'm a Christian and that's the holiest day on the Christian calendar.
About 50 Bloomingdales and 18 Macys stores open on Easter...no premium pay for working that day.
