Heard in the glass palace that buyouts are going to be $10,000 per year of service.

I am 58 years and 7 months old and this is my 360th month of service as an agreement employee. UP offered me $250,000 to vacate my job and not come back. Should I take it?

yeah right, JV does not believe in buyouts. He believes in burnouts. He will work a person to death so they quit. Then they will either shift that person's responsibility to another person they plan to burnout or backfill the job with someone new who does not know any better until they finally get burnt out. Why would he spend money when he could squeeze every bit of life out of someone until they have nothing left?

Buyouts would be for redundant non agreement positions is what I have heard. 1000 buyouts at 150,000 each is a high average, 150,000.000…. 8% a year from attrition alone. I would guess 700 buyouts max.

Popcorn 🍿 is ready.
No buyouts again, it's move to another position or resign, ask Palestine Car Shop or any other recent displaced employees.

Ai trains is what Vena and Soroban want.
Crew less trains and no employees anywhere. With the orange face Pedro in the white house, he'll get it.
Trump isn't going anywhere!

@a7
Bingo Vena still stuck at base camp...will never make it up the hill, yet firing the workers and keeping the wannabe leadership. Look at the stock price since he returned in Q3 2023. Stagnate at best and now a more than controversial merger that wont approve any sooner than 2027...with restrictions as shippers dont forget Sept 1996 when the failed UP SP merger took several years to integrate and arguably, it never did. They promised similar stuff back then and as much now, with far more at stake, with a far less competent leadership team. I mean, Roker and Gehringer have to feel less wanted, with perky Perkes getting CHRO title right out of the chute....time will tell, but history repeats itself and this is nothing less than a rinse and repeat of previous UP incompetence, to grease the executive bank accounts, once again and sc--w the general population in cell block C (cubicle that is)

Another boomer crying around about what paid for their whole life and thinks they deserve a buyout. You’re replaceable, quit making your head so big, they will give you no money and you’ll like it.

Layoffs and buyouts happen before the merger. Not the other way around.

No railroader is ever getting a buyout again. Only clerks

Right and you know this how? I think you're forgetting the already high price tag of the merger cost, so it kind of makes the of buyouts a little less believable. The UP isn't going to spend 85 billion on a merger and then tack on millions or possibly billions more for buyouts.
