LTE is the only way I don’t constantly lose service. Have some nice 5Guw that work blazing fast unless you stand too far away, too close, turn around, hold the phone wrong, or too many people around.

Thumbs up if you leave your phone on 4g lte because 5g is laggy and not consistent.

Two+ years is a long time to wait for completion.

5G is a sad situation. How many customers may have defected or customers lost?

The 5G fallout is the "massively incurred corporate debt" reminiscing to its failure and to also the unused excess of spectrum remaining, resultant due to the miscalculations and incompatibility.

Any takers for the resell of the remaining spectrum due to its dysfunctional engineering debacle.

I’m just hoping they either get rid of the outsourcing or at least train them correctly. You know, not lying and such would be a great start.

if you read the article correctly ,its 1800 tech over 3 years for all the rural areas,for verizon home internet which is 5g home internet not to build fios.fios is over

The fios build basically ended in the city this summer , a little bit here and there but that’s it .

Should have done this 10 years ago. Fios would be built already, and the money would be rolling in. Better late than never, I guess.

They will hire these 1,800 for Fios and then layoff 2,000 from the Wireless group. Still a Win - Win by the company point of view. This company is circling the drain more and more each day.

Rumored, that Frontier is seeking bids to be purchased whereby this amalgamation, expanding its footprint leading to additional top-line revenue growth.

Frontier, returning from bankruptcy, is now a fierce competitor.

Brightspeed, laser focused, funded by the private equity firm, the Apollo Group, acquired the previous VZ assets, AOL/Yahoo.

Crowded as many entrants as possible for this rural build-outs. There are companies vying which are much more proficient in dolling out money to reap the benefits of this taxpayer funded project. For example, Brightspeed, Frontier, and Apollo.

Sanity is rare these days-- missing for years -- within the VZ's executive suite but better late than never.

The best product that the company sells now that wireless customer service is gone and the network is on sale to any MVNO.

The problem is that there are now a lot of fiber companies pushing lightning-fast fiber Internet.

The barrier to entry that FiOS once owned now is getting a little crowded because it was abandoned.

I really do hope that BR sees that FiOS while not as alluring as make-believe-magic 5G products that don't exist, drives great positive cash flow. And once this is installed in a customer's home, it will stay there.

Labor negotiations will be very difficult.

So i see it that they know lots will be gone by 2026 and that they can hire newbees before contract expires that dont have same skin in game and they know its gonna make it a tough one

1800 over 2 years across the footprint isn’t a lot . Nice that they are hiring , but not gonna do much . Hiring done by June 2026 right before contract ends , how convenient .
