Sorry to bump an old thread, but I just wanted to see where the remaining non-closing Seritage locations were. Looks like Caguas, and Carolina PR Sears. I expect they will go soon.

Those 5 are bottom of percent to sales compared to last year,

@1mkj+15VQOzuO I don't Know about Profitability, but there is no way that NY, NY is in the bottom 5 of raw sales. Just physically impossible. They might not be Profitable at all, but there is no way they are in the bottom 5 of pure sales numbers, while the Montana store isn't in the bottom 5.

@1kae+15VQOzuO Wait, LOL. NYC is in the bottom 5 by sales, and Hamilton MT isn't? There is no way ON EARTH that Manhattan, NY is behind Hamilton MT in sales. I'm Talking pure sales volume, not Profit (as u suggested). I guarantee NYC does more volume in 1 Week, than Hamilton MY does in 1 Year. Come on now. There are more residents in a 3 block radius of that NYC store than the STATE OF MONTANA, for crying out loud.

@1cdz+15VQOzuO There is no pathway to profitability.

Does corporate still have that Pathway to Profitability initiative? When i worked at a Kmart five years ago, my store was on it. But it closed.

Is that "bottom 5" by sales, or by net profit?

Those Florida Keys stores have no competition from Target or Walmart.

Transform is down to the stores that only lose money because those are the ones that Seritage never even wanted and isn't even collecting rent from the "good" stores because even those aren't covering their fixed costs. Corporate can't cover the costs to buy product, and hasn't for a long time. Just look at the sad Christmas inventory even after it liquidated a third of the store base. The PR release pretending like Sears Home Services had value plus the fake job listings are just comical. Total disaster through and through.

@1ate+15VQOzuO I've been in it, yeah, it LOOKS nice but there is almost nothing left. Lots of parts of the store is blocked off with shelves. The LC is also barely open and they don't even have pest control anymore either.

Big Bear Lake actually looks like a pretty decent Kmart, from what's posted on their Facebook page. And they still have a Little Caesars within the store!

The Florida Keys stores are really unique, especially the Marathon store with the fishing center. A top-notch store, to be sure!

The Big Bear Lake store is in shambles, it needs to shut down as well.

Which stores are the bottom 5 for Kmart?

@rrr+15VQOzuO Seritage announced that they were terminating leases of 12 out of 17 Sears and Kmart stores, but at the time they did not announce with 12. We now know all 12 of them.

The other 5 could close as well, but they don't have to.

With the Covid closures, I dont think there really will be a tourist season. All 3 florida stores store's sales are so weak. They are in the bottom 5 right now. I think they are next!

Maybe once the tourist season is over the rest of the Florida Kmarts will close. There’s no other Kmarts nearby and there is only 1 route through them all.

I would pick the Costa Mesa kmart over the Long beach Kmart to close.
