I am genuinely curious. This is a mid tech company at best, seems like we get shafted on bonus and merit increases. What’s everyone else’s opinion? Consumers don’t even think about HP.

Not really. Good thing is that most employees are very low intelligence so it’s easy to get away with stuff.
"@1c0+1jh5t0nr6 Congrats on your $1000 of stagnant stock. You are a wealthy, wealthy man."
Exactly. HP stock was higher 3 years ago when Buffett invested in the company. The stock market is on fire while HP stock has gone nowhere but down despite all the cost cutting and layoffs.

I love it! Plus my Feb RSUs coming! Cry more.
I hated working there. Constantly traveling. No training on ever changing products. For the most part horrible management.
I deeply resent that I'm part of the HP business model. The company buys its printers from an overseas company, slaps the company logo on it and an additional firmware layer designed to sc--w over the customer as much as it's legally permitted, extorts the customer on ink/toner, and then has the gall to claim ownership over the customer's property and extract monthly rent, whilst running so many telemetry processes you would think it was the NSA. The customers hate it, the customers make it abundantly clear they hate it, but the corporate brass adamantly insists the customers love it.
That said, there are worse places I could be in life. I have worked for companies that treated me like an indentured servant, in pay and expectations of work. The pay's not great, but it's decent, and the job market is in a death spiral so it's not going to get better than this. I'm a corporate cog making the world a worse place, but at least I can tread water for a bit before getting pulled under with everyone else.
Not really but the unlimited PTO is nice to abuse.
I enjoyed working here until now since I just got laid off today.
17 years in the company and I resent our SC management, their decision making process, the arrogance with which they treat our suppliers, how they spend money on f2f meetings all over this planet (Ernest is going to Davos but we don’t have money to travel), and don’t get me started on the pay. They ki-led the cash rewards and implemented the points system, at least in our org it’s awarded once in a blue moon, usually at the end of year, when the bosses need to get rid of them.
And let’s not even discuss promotions, especially to management positions, as most are dedicated to selected people, usually underperforming, keeping the ones that actually work on the same level for years, they don’t offer any trainings and then reject you for “lack of experience”.
I was happy to be with my colleagues. I was happy to work for my boss.
I was NOT happy working for HP.
I was a CW worker at HP. When I was a contractor, I really enjoyed my job and most of my coworkers were great. The pay was below market rate but it was close to home and it paid the bills. After two furloughs, I found a much better job with a 40% pay hike. I always felt that HP did not value our work and felt that the whole team would be laid off at any moment.
It really depends on the team. Unfortunately, I’m feeling quite unhappy at the moment. I didn’t receive a salary increase either, despite my long service. After many years of working from home, my current manager is now insisting that I return to the office and attend meetings in person, which feels quite unfair. She comes across as a gaslighting manager. I suppose it’s just bad luck. I wish the job market was stronger right now, but it isn’t, and I feel like HP is aware of that. It almost feels like they’re trying to push people out.
I'm just a CW. The pay is good, the people are nice. Just as good as working somewhere else. Been here 9 years, the last 7 as one long assignment.
The first 2 years I was treated like dirt by the HP regular employees. The last 7 years in a different division, I am treated as an equal. I found out it is where you work in the company that makes the difference.
No current complaints from me.
