This column has been silent for a while. Either everyone who normally posts here has been laid off, or they are finally doing their jobs and working. Probably just scared about the contract negotiations and the expected weak contract.

This is what the National union wants! No one to strike because they would have to work a little bit and show their faces. GE will not move work! If they do who cares wages are increasing everywhere. So my vote is no from what I’m hearing.
Face it, everyone will roll over, expose their backsides and take it. Stop fronting! The fear of the outcome after rejection is too great for anybody standup against. Nobody is going to strike because the new union membership majority is the participation trophy generation.
@3opc+1m44713Z- sound like this GE worker is so far up his bosses backside it isn’t funny. Sounds like this person is identifying as a backside li---r. Sounds like this person like the fact and accepts the fact that GE makes millions and billions and is afraid to fight for a chunk of the Corporate wealth. This person must like making $10 less than the pre 2011 contract meanwhile inflation is going up. This person must of came from making $10 an hour and has a big ego now because this person gets to drive into these gates in amazement how this person got so lucky to make $10 less an hour now but $15 more an hour than his last job. Now this person has ALL THE ANSWERS. Well here is one yes vote! To many scared chicken droppings these post 2011 workers are! Keep getting walked all over!
So let me get this straight?? We're pi---d because we were lied to about being essential?? We were made to come into work based on a lie. That lie was that we were declaimed essential when we were non-essential. Now that we have the contract to vote on, we want to continue the lie and be treated as if the whole world will come to a halt unless our demands are met? But before we all should have been sent home to sit on our butts while screaming poverty online??? Anybody else having a hard time trying to figure out at what time to be on which side of the argument?? If we were truly worthless and non-essential then, then guess what..... that still holds true today. You don't get to flip the script to fit your own personal agenda. Isn't that what we get pi---d off at upper management about?? No point in thinking things would change if the little guy was just given the chance at upper management. All I'm really hearing is a bunch of jealous babies who want as much of everything for nothing and are doing it by claiming
avictim's status. What a bunch of weak minded individuals!! Nothing but toxic mindsets.
@1byl+1m44713Z Face it buddy the pandemic restrictions were a joke, how was it that mcdonalds, taco bell dunkin etc were critical? lol seems ur just a** hurt because you weren't allowed to stay home during the pandemic.
Looks like Schenectady is getting what they are worth and what they have earned and asked for over the last four years.
: @1qox+1m44713Z-
In Schenectady NY, GE lied to NYS that we where making critical parts to keep power on in Hospitals and other critical infrastructure. They deemed us Essential because of that. There words, their actions. All lies. Nothing made here goes into anything within a year of us building it. So if your gonna lie to the Government, and treat your people like that, cut some executive pay, (which sat home thru the pandemic) and give to those that actually deserve it. Thats what my comment is about regarding the pandemic.
@1aal+1m44713Z you're partly right. Yes Aerospace had big profits but renewables had enormous, record breaking LOSSES. Gas Power is staying above water. So it makes sense that the deal looks good for Aerospace but not so much for Schenectady.
Not sure how your comment about pandemic ties in. Think of all the fast food places open, were those 'needed'?
Must be your disconnected from those that work at GE. The contract offer came out last week, next Tues the 18th all vote on it. Great for every site but Schenectady. As GE and 301 work to divide the membership even more than already divided. Only site in the country union or non union that still has two tier wage scale. With 46% increase in profits over last year, and work out the wazoo for the next 10-15 years for the new wind orders on top of all the announced generator and bar orders, hiring another 150+, there is NO reason not to close the gap now, all 10 dollars of it. Schenectady worked thru the pandemic lied about as essential workers. Now the GE should show some respect for just that. Essential makes the money, pay them some as well.
Bingo!
