Dell Technologies abuse of hiring cheap foreign workers impacts National Security

https://www.gsaig.gov/content/office-counsel-inspector-general

The abuse of the H1B Visa program and the excessive hiring of cheap foreign workers by Dell Technologies, and other companies that pull this stunt, to enrich a small group of top-level executives and pooled investment fund groups will soon be viewed as a National Security hazard.

The drain in homegrown technology and oversight from American citizens limits our ability to maintain a strategic advantage as a superpower. Companies like Dell Technologies, and specifically the executives that drive these decisions, will be rightly seen as having blood on their hands.

This is no longer about the devastation Dell causes to American citizens with its constant hiring and layoffs to manipulate a stock price. Massive hiring of foreign workers, and abusing the H1B Visa program from companies with large US Federal government information technology contracts, puts American citizens lives in danger.

This is a strategic failure of leadership that’s driven only by pure greed.

BS, about a shortage of skilled labor! They would rather hire someone who lies about their skills just to pay them less. My bro used to work for Dell years ago. He saw the beginning of the change. Dell would hire unskilled H1B1s and employees would have to train them. Then Dell would let those employees go. Only one guy he knew is still there and he says the majority of employees there are H1B1. He can't wait to retire and get out. Also, I hear that Dell has been in decline for many years now. Good riddance!

Straight talk - Dell certainly isn't going to stop unless someone makes them.

Trump might do do something about this. Biden absolutely will not.

manager state all new hires will be made outside of US. They can no longer higher from within no matter the need.

all comments focussing on H1b are forgetting that the H1b is QUALIFIED in data science and AI . They are being hired based on Skills or past experience- Now.
As the other comment @1bpz+1t5vaQYJ pointed out - the good "permanent" citizen is not qualified because he didnt upgrade himself to newer technology. I am guessing the "Permanent" citizen was once a H1b himself coz he must be referring to permanent RESIDENT , not citizen . LOL

Dell is notorius for pulling the H1B Visa cheap labor scam. There are plenty of qualified permanent US citizens who are a perfect fit for Dell jobs, but like other tech companies, Dell is trying to drive down wages in the sector through H1B Visa hires.

Employers like Dell essentially get a slave when they hire an H1B, because staying in the US is conditional to their job. It gives Dell and other employers a sense of entitlement as they get cheaper employees that are much more obedient and completely dependent on them than any regular American citizen.

Report this Discrimination based on Citizenship Status (against American citizens) to the Department of Justice - Civil Rights division.

Choose contact division, and submit violation.

Apple was recently busted for exactly this type of anti-American tactic and it needs to be reported.

I agree that data crossing boundaries can be problematic. However, H1B visa holders are individuals living in the US, working hard to build their careers and lives here, contributing significantly to the country’s development.

H1B holders are typically very loyal to their companies. While I can’t speak for everyone, many of us are deeply dedicated to our employers.

Therefore, let’s focus our criticism on outsourcing work to offshore locations simply to cut costs. Just to clarify, offshore work is not the same as H1B employment. Is that clear?

Totally true. They want most of the workforce in India. Like it’s 2002.

Wait til they find out we’re illegally using offshore resources to handle sensitive Federal customer data because Dell is too cheap to hire US operations resources

There’s a screen shot of the original post the hacker made on the dark web in that article and it says it was April?

They state “Feel free to contact me to discuss use cases and opportunities” and it is over 49 million records over the last 8 years.

LOL I’m sure there are no gdpr violiations in all that data!!

I’ll add to this one - Dell Technologies did not have their entire customer database compromised and published on the dark web last month. 😂

Do not search for that or read about it - https://dailydarkweb.net/threat-actor-claims-sale-of-dell-database-containing-49-million-customer-records/

No Dell changed how we do this and we use other companies to handle the operation so if things go bad we can say we didn’t know and blame them.

We don’t actually perform the forced labor abuse, we just fund the ones that do.

Whatever you do, don’t under any circumstances look up the term H1B Visa on Wikipedia!

Trolling with a non existent article that probably doesn’t even talk about h1b1. I don’t disagree that Dell mgmt is unscrupulous and hires lots of foreign workers. We also happen to have shortages of a lot of these skills. Have you sat on interviews lately?

Hundreds of thousands of cheap foreign labor jobs in Ukraine by United States public companies were impacted when Russia invaded.

Dell had to scramble to find replacement cheap foreign labor to replace their Ukraine operations - and then did some terrible PR announcements about how it was about people and not money. Sad!
