Good times or bad - it doesn't matter, layoffs always come to GE. Layoffs are in GE's basic business model. Even the new CEO cannot come up with a different algorithm. Layoffs, sell assets, layoff more, sell more assets. Why anybody would want to work for GE I will never understand.

GE’s q2 reports are false it’s all smoke and mirrors. There will not be any layoffs till March of 2021 after this layoff in Sept 2020 of 150 onion employees. 273 is the new battery plant plant closing announcement in 2021.

I did read the financial report from q2 reductiok in headcount by 800 in all of power q3 alone plus another 1 billion in cost cutting. And as far as the uniin meeting goes qhat was said is theres layoffs coming just no idea when or how many. 3 days later the stewards and board members knew lmfao. There will be layoffs this quarter sometime before q3 earnings statement comes out so power can reflect to larry Culp they are trying to cut costs.

There is paperwork laying out the reduction in work/workforce, so NO I dont trust the words spoken, ever, but when there is communication from GE to 301 in black and white, its a little harder to dispute!
The battery plant plan was given to everyone too!!!! How did that work out for. You want everyone to believe what the hall says about layoffs, then go on a rant about everything wrong at the hall...The hall won’t change until the names change, right now it’s just a younger generation of what was there 20 years ago! You want change, remember what’s happening when it’s time to vote!!!
If you went to the meetings two weeks ago, the layoff plan was given to everyone. There is no longer a need to post b—s— here about when, it was clearly laid out. Spring of 2021 if any 135 heads. A lot could change by then, only time will truly tell. Instead of all the layoff BS, why dont we continue to demand why so many thousands of dollars a month are being wasted on pizza parties/cmte meetings, when people should be volunteering to help their organization out? Why does a non elected union member have a key to the union hall, when board members dont? Why does a union member who should have been out on the street long ago for being a thief, get to collect union dues money to be a secretary to the BA ? When are people going to wake up and realize that union officials that are elected by the membership, answer to the membership? Its not the other way around, yet there is NO outrage over the b—s— that continues to go on week after week? Read the financial reports released at the meetings 2 weeks ago, you would have to be a complete mo–n not to see the waste of thousands of dollars in the last 5 months, all because the truth cant be recognized and we try to pretend we could change what we never can, even after being told by GE, there is nothing you can do the reverse the decision!! And the extra thousands of dollars that non elected union member is colleting to work from home, work while at work, or sit at the hall, doing things that the elected officials should be responsible for, for what they are already getting paid to do!!
It’s coming like a freight train...the lower the stock price, the higher the number of people out the door. If you have less than 13 years service, you better dust off your resume... Middle management should be totally eliminated.
