Just like the other American thread (which I agree with), jobs in the UK should be for us. Too many Europeans and Asians taking our jobs

kind of insane how trading, branding, and actually harnessing energy all happen in the US but they’re determined to replace everyone with Indians who do a worse job in the quest for a buck.
the latest reorg is a comically large offshoring. they even told us in town halls and via line managers not to count which jobs are going where lol. they know exactly what they’re doing.
Fine. Enjoy your miserable and cold island ..... with bad food, stale beer, and bad teeth ....
Yes, hire local and keep Brits/Dutch away from overpaid and unnecessary expat roles. I've worked with many who have made a whole career as expat...using their connections/inside info to secure successive assignments. Lots of folks have had fun times in Bangalore (which was assigned a high location allowance!) starting up the office there....to what end ?
Yes, its a multinational company and some expat roles are required to rotate staff but the system is too generous and biased towards NL/UK staff who are continued to be hired even though not many local roles exist for them.
Shell moving to the US and replacing a lot of global management with US based workforce is the only thing that will raise the stock price. STUSCO is already responsible for most of our profit. The work culture is just different in the US.
Last I checked, a person from the UK (British) is European.
And I’m sure someone of Asian descent that was born and raised in the UK is British, too.
So, when you say “… jobs in the UK should be for us”, not for Europeans and Asians, just who do you consider “us”?
It’s 2025, not 1925.
Haha these posts are fu--ing hilarious. The English are bottom of the barrel. The Dutch however are the true OG’s.
Happy new year. Whether in- or outside of Shell - nobody knows in a few months from now where he’ll be!
Let’s not sell the Dutch short. Those sliced boiled egg and cucumber sandwiches they bring in for lunch meetings are nothing to sneeze at.
RE: the Dutch posting in here telling people to be more competitive while having staff councils
Of course they have a double standard, they barely make any money in their doomed little an-s of Europe. The only way they can get ahead is by going abroad just like their slave trading fo-e-bearers. Garbage country, garbage people
In response to: Lot of weak insecure folks on here that have a hard time competing against harder working talent. Become more marketable!
That's the issue, hardworking does not get you ahead of this company. You can work your a-s off for 13 yrs only to be replaced with someone with little to no experience.
It is so funny when i read comments on these immersion threads from dutch people when they literally have national laws which make you hire any dutch applicants if possible for your job posts
monstrous hypocrites, the lot of them. same people who turned shell into a clown show of chasing stupid renewable trends that burn billions to have no financial upside
Need to work harder on our assigned online driver and office ergonomics training. That’ll make Shell great again, especially in Europe.
@1xwn+1wdqUJSi
Of course we're insecure! The Dutch and Brits gutted this company and are firing everyone ... AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN. Work harder on what? On upstream? On midstream? On refining? On LCF? On hydrogen? On hydrogenated corn oil? On SRS? Which flavor of the day should we work harder on?
Did Austin Powers get an EV?
Lot of weak insecure folks on here that have a hard time competing against harder working talent. Become more marketable!
@1aux+1wdqUJSi,
maybe no more US jobs but certainly fewer UK jobs. That's good enough for me.
I hate dou--ey Brits.
American comments here are pathetic. Even if they work for a foreign company like Shell, they are only preaching “America first”. Well guess what, offshoring of office jobs will only continue since the US based workforce is way overpriced. Furthermore, moving Shell from NL to the UK did not result in more UK jobs. Hence, moving Shell to the US will also not result in more US jobs.
Shell can’t come to the US fast enough and hire only Americans for the new vacant roles
I agree, British people should get British jobs. Especially the Scots. Salt of the earth people.
Remember the British are not just the English!
Brits… don’t get me started. Real nasty to work with. Sneaky eels.
Worked with a couple of british managers in the US - they are double standard.
Brexit for a reason. Shell is now Anglo
Brits are one of the most untrustworthy folks on the planet. Always saying the opposite of what you mean and always a double agenda that only serves their own. Absolute trash.
Reading your post I would guess that for you it is hard to compete with foreigners, presumably due to difference in IQ.
Presumably the company understands that.
