This company could be a great place to work but it’s only a great place to work if you’re 35 or younger.… At first the company said they wouldn’t promote people because of relocation, yet the younger employees weren’t required to move?. Positions have even been restructured with the obvious intent to package out the senior employees and legally make way for the younger ones by changing the job title. Older employees are never considered for open promotions . Even though retirement age is 65-67, once you are 40 here, forget it.

They do discriminate-just ask what happened to the EEO person!
AMEN EVERYONE SHOULD FIGHT FOR THEIR RIGHTS
ABSOLUTELY NO ONE SHOULD LET THEIR EMPLOYER BULLY THEM.
IF WE HAD ENOUGH PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN DISCRIMINATED AGAINST
WE COULD HAVE A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT
That a topical Mondelez answer., If you don’t like it leave. You just answered you own question. DC
Hey DC,
You were at the regional meeting. How many women DM did you see? Sorry that you feel we are “ganging up” on Mondelez! Maybe you’ve never been on the receiving end of things, if you were you may feel differently?
How do you think Joan Konsavage felt when she was told she was too old? And then HR didn’t care! You got a mom don’t you? A jury didn’t think it was nice! Mondelez tried to settle.
If someone was standing over a dead body with a bloody knife, HR would deny everything! Pathetic! This behavior is disgusting! Gotta sue to get attention! Expect more! They are coming....soon!!!
That's false reporting!! We are a equal opportunity employer!! You should be a shame of yourselves posting that. I suggest you look for other employment. That's not nice running Mondelez into the ground with your falsification!
Regards,
DC
I asked about being Prompted. Was told by my DM quote, you are not the right color, or gender the company wants a culture of young.
Add gender and race to that list too!! They only hire diversity when the RVP gets a bonus to do so! Partner up with colleges of diversity to boost their image and then drop them when the money dries up!
Just out of curiosity, how many people over the age of say, 25, has been moved into the office to the RAA role or one of the equivalent roles that fast tracked these people into management roles? Just curious. Maybe more importantly, how many under 40? 🤔🤔🤔🤭 What I thought! People are paying attention attention skippy! Get ready!
Yep, all true!! And they have to rewrite things to make it happen! Since these “youngsters” could not get sales positions due to territories being “blocked” they just re wrote the rules on that! Now we have managers with little to no sales experience at all! Maybe a couple months as an SA? Then off they go. There is a pattern here though, and that’s why this next round of buyouts and layoffs can and should be different! People need to ask for information!! Plenty of attorneys would jump all over an age discrimination, class act, where termination is involved! Capture future earnings!! There’s a real 💰🐄! Like hitting the lotto! Don’t let Mondelez run over you!!
So many of the same stories I have been working through I’m my 25 years. The many managers rights out of College put labels on older SR. In relegation giving unrealistic expectations and goal. The new manager cannot do your jog however they read it in a book so that gives them the right to tell you how to do your job!
I get that it is not that easy to “do something about it”. Mondelez relies on the mentality that it David vs Goliath and people won’t stand up to them! I will tell you, once you do you’ll be surprised. Management isn’t used to be being challenged!! Class action lawsuits are usually all done with no upfront fees! I know that cause we are working with one now. Same story as what’s being said! If this breaks, their house of cards is coming down so fast their heads will spin. We are dealing with people that have no moral conscience!
Wow. If you really wanted a promotion and it wasnt happenning for you at MDLZ then its incumbent on YOU to do something about it.
Your story is like the company career path for most! I was passed over for a promotion. I hired an attorney and stood up for myself with HR and low and behold I got that call that a job mysteriously opened up! My story was about to be just like yours.... The attorney who specializes in employment law was honestly dumbfounded at the total inept ability in Mondelez HR. Like it’s been posted...document things! When we get let go ask for the list of those that get let go!! It’s the law! Reason the will quickly now move these young things out of field sales and into the office, to preserve their jobs!
Thank you for that post! You are not alone!! Scum of the earth! I’ve heard that exact story so many time! People on my team. And these people ask why would they lie? They are about to find out! People need to do document everything!
I've been waiting for my promotion for over 20 years.. 1st it was because I didn't have a degree, funny thing is the only ones with degrees in upper around here have useless ones that dont even pertain to our business ( they just stayed in school because mommy and daddy were paying for it), then it was because I wouldn't relocate halfway across the country ( when none of them had to), then it was because such and such was on fast track because they just got out of college and spoke 7 different languages, except of course Spanish which down here is pretty much the one you need to know ( didn't matter that I had put my time in and had been putting my time in since they were still being breastfed), then the latest, I'm pretty much past my prime ( they had no problem using my ideas and all my hard work to take credit for and using my territory in a milk run for their bosses when they came into town, but still it's not my time, they say.. in my over 20 something years, I've never been written up, never had to be reprimanded, have made this company over a million dollars a year in sales, every year since being a rep, have been used as an ROTC trainer ( as stupid as that program was), have been certified numerous times for numerous other stupid training programs I've had to teach some of these people, have seen at least 2 people that I trained initially, move to other companies and are now district managers or higher... but like a dumb--s, I bought into their c-ap, that something is fixing to happen for me. .. I gave them most of my adult life, I can't walk away now.. all I can do is hope that some of this c-ap I read on here about downsizing or leaving is true.. I dont expect anything from these people.. why would I, I just want what I know I've earned and that's some kind of severance.. I hope one of their higher ups is reading this.. I hope you know and are proud of yourself for how you and your kind managed to break down someone that stood behind you and put you 1st thinking it was for the best, someone that actually knows how to work, someone that never failed a project put in front of them. . But go ahead, put that youngster in place there.. let's see that I can't work out here past dark or no way on the weekends attitude ... let's run with it.. you deserve what you get..
GS loves it! Keeps skippy busy! He also likes to surround himself with managers he can control, stupid ones that only do as their told! Our DM is pathetic!
Agree. If your not blonde hair blue eyes From the University of Wherever, only 22 year olds need to apply. It’s called high potential and fast tracked.
A jury disagreed, found the company in violation of age discrimination. The only reason there hasn’t been more of these verdicts is only because people have not come forward. It’s so rampant. A class action lawsuit is on the horizon......
With Skippy at the helm things have been a little sloppy!
Spot on accurate! Spot on!!!
Not accurate
I’ve been here 17 years and it’s always been this way! GS makes up his own rules! The EEOC is exactly where to go! Joan Konsavage took them on...and won! The only difference between her and others is that she did something about it!! There are many more “Joan”s out there!! #speakup!
File with the EEOC! They continue as long as can!!
I hope you have filed a lawsuit. It's so sad to see a company treat its employees this way.
