Thread regarding Truist Bank layoffs

Can one have a semblance of career here?

I’ve been stuck in this one job for too long. Admittedly, I’m not a good a--kisser, but I do my job well. Is it really not about competence and performance at all? I mean, I get the social and hierarchical aspect of work relations, I get you do need to be a bit pushy and bullsh-tter and all that. But exclusively that?

@1wpy+1tmp9W03.... H.R. ? Thats funny! Are you sure you work for Truist?

Doubt they would lift a finger... well,
maybe the middle one as they tell you it's not an H.R. issue.

All the people saying “this is everywhere” haven’t worked for a good, small company apparently

So much of what you gripe about isn’t limited to Truist. I can’t stand working at Truist, but grow up and see this is all over the world in big corporations.

That sounds like a HR issue that should be brought up. I am flabbergasted that is happening.

Special teammates are those who get to WFH even tho they didn't go thru HR for accommodations and don't live 50 miles away. In, Rhichmond that's half the mortgage LOB. NOW, ask yourself how those that are required to RTO 4 days week feel about those who don't? Leadership wants you to be happy to have a job and not complain. I consider myself happy to have a job, but that doesn't mean I'm not bitter about the unfairness of the RTO for some but not for all.

Mortgage is the worst. Just look at the special teammates who get to WFH verses the sh---y loosers that have to swip a badge 4 days.

You can if you are in mortgage DEI at its finest. You have a top mortgage leader that had a public tik tok.She was strutting herself in bikinis..She would say I am too hot to have to work. Why did she feel that was okay and there would be no consequences? If there were no one noticed as she got promoted. Then you have her friend who was promoted. She brought her boyfriend to town and to get him in the work building passed him off as family..She must have forgotten because at a team event that evening at Top Golf out came the truth.

Same, my region leader, the workers he dates gets the fastest promotions, endorsements and raises outside of annuals. Some of us women who aren’t interested in making our careers move like that, catch ourselves lost in the dust of others regardless of our performance. The men forget about it, they’ll never see anything under his leadership because it’s one thing he has his eyes set on.

Run! If you looked up the meaning of Nepotism/Favortism you will see a Truist sign... seriously! And the worst about it is that leadership is completly overt about it. Good luck!
