Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Reality needs to sink in.

I have been with Hertz 15 years and there is no bigger supporter than me! I will do and did do anything and everything to help this company thrive. I supported Kathy and the previous leadership in their vision and direction for the company. But even as optimistic as I am I see the reality of where Hertz is going to end up and its not a good place. No I will not post on my social media pages how we will survive this challenging times. No I cannot continue to lie to my team that all is well and business as usual. I will not put a fake face of greatness to come when we all know there is none. My team has families to support and I will let them know that they need to be actively looking for new opportunities. Hertz is not going to make it through this bankruptcy so stop the lies. We are setting up our teams for even harder times. When we go chapter 7 who is going to help these people? Fleet assets are being sold as quickly as possible. Airports are ghost towns. Leisure travel is shut down and business travel will not improve as we see more remote workers. So how is Hertz going come out on top? Europe is now feeling the pressure layoffs or expected to be announced tomorrow. Its been a great run. Time to move on.

All those executives saying business as usual were paid the retention bonus' instead of the standard employees and those who have been let go. I worked for Hertz for quite a bit more than 10 years. They aren't going to continue paying severance to those released so when they shut down do not expect any more money from them. Very sad. This dated back a long time prior to Kathy. This dates back to CEO MF. Stupid decisions abound with Hertz and it isn't going to stop until the courts shut it down.

The peers and coworkers I have met and had the privilege to work with have been the greatest thing about the 18 years I have been at Hertz. As much as I separate my personal life and work I have had the opportunity to see their families grow as they have seen mine. We have built a strong bond. I see their concerns everyday as they cope with the uncertain times. They do not have the luxury like the senior execs loading up with cash in the bank as Hertz falls apart. I have directed my team to begin to repaper for the worst. What would they do if the doors were to close tomorrow?

Not at Hertz, but I have been in your position before and, as you, I chose to put my employees first. There are times you have to put the business first, but there are others where the right thing to do for our society is be a humanitarian. Remember this, when Hertz...or fill in the blank...goes to sleep at night it is not thinking about you. Thank you for not selling your soul. Good luck! ❤️

Executives must think you are all id–ts! If they think that you can be fooled by the motivational words that they are stealing from Goal Cast and google then they give you no credit."We will come out stronger"," If its worth it then its worth the fight" "we are in this together" "you are the reason why we will be a better company" Come on be original!!!!! ITS OVER!

Hertz is doomed! The previous CEOs and the Regional VP and AP GM leaches drained this company of all of its energy and resources. Worst company I ever worked for.

Get out people. You will regret staying. Its over. Hertz is done
