Fidelity Silent Layoff - Looks like 4000 Employees

Has anyone else who was laid off taken the time to manually count the Roles eliminated?

The Severance package material includes 128 PAGES listing #employees by AGE/ROLE NAME….I was not able to scrape the data to calculate, but manually counted 5 pages worth to get a page average and then multiplied by 128. We are talking 4-6 THOUSAND.

700 are the ones who didn't get the full severance that puts them under warn limit. That's what was reported. Most got 6 months+ so no need to disclose that to govt. Check counts on WW in April.

Where are you all getting this 1200 list?

@1ahb+1rsdy7Fi They are legally required to post notice on WARN and if they don’t they have to provide pay for every day without notice up to 60 days. So as long as everyone gets minimum 60 days severance then they are fine.

The 3200 was an overstatement, misread. Much lower number.

UPDATE FROM OP: I was posting about WI and Health…. So it sounds like….

Workplace Investing & Fidelity Health = ~4000 (manually counted a few pages to get an avg then multiplied by nr of pages)

Personal Investing / Wealth = 1200

HR/Legal/Misc = someone wrote 3200???

****counts are only those who were given a severance.

When you say PI Wealth was 1200, do you mean 1200 layoffs out of a much longer list?

Meaning, this is the half of the retail business formerly known as PI but now known as Wealth (not the Wealth Services compson domain formerly known as Wealth Management), and there were however many thousands of associates on the list in your packet, and it specifies that 1,200 of those folks were impacted by the layoff?

It is not the same company as it was under Ned. So many unethical leaders.

I didn't see Fidelity listed on any of the states WARN sites though. Is it maybe just not available yet?

The announced 700 are the ones that they gave to report to State according to WARN act.

Contractors, voluntarily resigned ones and retired ones are not included in the 700.

which BU pdf are you referring from packet? it is mentioned in pdf. 3200 is not company level I believe. It ha to be some BU. PI Wealth pdf lists 1200. they made sure each BU has its own PDF and not single consolidated

I put it in excel and it’s just about 3200 Fidelity employees total. From HR to Legal to Consulting to a Chef.

Does the 1200 include contract worker? The SMs in our area are technically employed from outside firm, not Fid employees

Oh no!! Bless your hearts!!
Sounds like healthcare … Do more with less…
Less people, less education, less experience, less empathy .. no time for that 🙄
and always less care !!
Be glad you aren’t responsible for keeping someone alive on a cardiac floor with 8 other patients demanding your attention … !!😳
Healthcare Companies stopped ‘caring about their employees’ years ago … You show up for your shift, work it, they pay you & you either stay or move on . They paid you to do what you said you would do .. they owe you no more & you own them the same…
Intestinal fortitude keeps you coming back until you either can’t or finally choose not too!
All of us are expendable….
Especially when your work ethic casts a shadow on the masses of mediocrity that is now so evident in every type of business …
Rise above their foolishness … !!
Consider them Vapor !!
Your job is not who you are, it’s what you do.. !!
Good Luck with your next great adventure… !!!

Names won't be there, but legally they have to share job titles and ages to disprove age discrimintation.

docusign pdf with number of positions eliminated and ages is only for a BU of impacted person. so you wont know unless you have pdf for each BU. pdf also only has people who qualified for severance, not sure if additional were let go without severance. 700 number news is fake it is a lot more

Can confirm 1) the layoff included Satisfactory and Exceeds Expectations employees 2) the poster writing about the PDF with employees included in the layoff is correct - it’s a list of every job role title and age (not people’s names). 3,130 positions. Audit, consulting and compliance teams were destroyed.

OP, are you sure you didn’t receive a list of all Boston employees, including those who were terminated and those who weren’t? I think they are legally required to give you that so you can compare characteristics like age and gender and see there was no discrimination. When I was laid off before, we were able to see that the average age of those laid off was much higher than those not impacted.

This poster probably received a PDF list of the other employees who were terminated. You receive this if you are part of a layoff. This is not public information. I work at Fidelity now and am not impacted at this time by layoffs, but I was laid off by another large company and got a similar packet. There’s not a link to this info and the poster shouldn’t screenshot it. But that’s fascinating that it looks to be 4.k names and not the 700 that were communicated.

Speaking of communication… managers are saying they were told not to talk to their teams about the layoffs. No internal memo came out. You get pieces of info here and there. It feels really weird and like no one is safe. I can confirm they laid off high performers and great people. It was not a matter of trimming IPs or non-compliers.

OP here. It’s in the DocuSign papers - there are a total of 188 pages, and 128 of them are just long lists of role/titles, and then the age with the #employees for that age/role.
