So…how’s the first few days of RTO working for everyone?

If sales and profits continue to decline, then what's the point of coming into the office. They are going to go bankrupt and won't be able to even pay you. Start looking for another job is my best advice. People order online mostly from other retailers that are a lot cheaper. For example: Walgreens sells WD40 for $12 while HomeDepot sells twice the size for half the price. Also, there is never enough items on the store shelf of the items that are on sale during the week. And the prices are ridiculous compared to competitors.

Where is everyone???? There is no way people are coming in the mandatory 3 days. Most areas are not even 1/4 occupied. People better start getting their as--s in or you’re going to ruin it for everyone else and they will start checking badge swipes!

Tried to hit up an Ecom related team today with a small ask, their manager told me it’d be a week as his whole team was on PTO. Office is dead.

People spending built up frozen PTO hours before being swapped over to Flex Time off model me thinks.

It’s been empty all week - is everyone out of office because of spring break?

RTO su-ks, thanks for asking.

As for Neal’s What’s Up sessions I’m kinda torn. First three had some good questions with fair enough answers. But now it’s all HR related guff with only half-answers. I’ve stopped listening to them as closely. Good concept but quickly lost intended value as there’s near zero tech content on both sides of the discussion. He should change them to bi-monthly.

On the upside I now get to say “Hey _____ what’s up?” on all my other random meetings which is a hoot.

To those who downvoted the last comment: why? Do you disagree the What's Up meeting, while flawed, is a step in the right direction? Do you want Hsiao back?

Neal has a biweekly all hands meeting where he takes questions from employees. The meeting series is called "What's Up". We submit questions ahead of time and vote. Neal says to Kristin, "What's Up?" and she reads the next highest voted question.

Is it cheesy? Sure. But we get to hear from our CIO and his leadership team every couple of weeks. While it doesn't solve every problem, it's a very welcome change IMHO.

Can someone explain to us that are not in IT what this Kristin thing is all about? It sounds absurd and I’d love to know more.

Neal's fantasy of being an RTO is his way of showing people that he is a clown.
