VP is telling us it is a fantastic year. Are the rumors of layoffs still out there?

Well, looks good below except DCG. Some unprofessional managers should be RAed and replaced. That's the better way to process next transformation.

Pre-tax income rose 133% year over year and 64% quarter over quarter, with the PC business up 40% and 13%, respectively and margin expanding by 110bp. Although the PC business was the biggest segment-level beat, the Mobile business went unexpectedly positive, with the company squeaking out a small pre-tax profit of $3 million against a $124 million loss last year and a $49 million loss in the prior quarter. The DCG business continues to lose money, and lost a little more than expected this quarter, but still saw the loss shrink by almost $30 million (or 2% of sales) from the prior year.

lenovo is a joke.... Layoffs are a way of life at Lenovo. wonderful x86 pc/Server performance? Not even close. The server brand loses money left and right.

If you can buy two companies and cut your market cap in half, you gotta make those deals. Intelligent Transormation.

Any updates on the upcoming layoffs? Scale and timing? And specifically, any word on DCG?

The most dysfunctional organisation I have ever worked for - glad to get out.

DCG in APJ is being run into the ground by greedy fat cats who would struggle to run a corner store.

I would like to share an amazing story came from my friend who was layoff on Sep 2018.

His new senior 1st line manager treated this senior friend very nice with below authority and political procedures:

Firstly, His new senior 1st line manager asked this friend to move his seat to fan acoustics noise area after reorganization in a few weeks.

Secondly, assigned legacy projects to him.

#This new senior 1st line manager asked his trusted engineers to utilize this senior friend's skill try to dishonor him.

Every smart guy should know what this amazing senior 1st line manager was doing?

Finally, This friend wrote an email to HR and asked to lay off him immediately according to Labor Standard Laws.

Especially before RA happening. The misleading management is not transparent; older employees are not valued or properly utilized. Most of young staff complains tasks were assigned to no connected staffs to give you the hints there will be no your career anymore. Project management staffs without connection will be utilized for no valued projects. PM usually transfer the most of engineering tasks to engineers and NRE outsourcing. The most of sufferers will be no connection engineering staff, especially professional tasks without leadership managers. The professional staff will be not valued anymore.

Interest on debt is killing Lenovo profits. This is why layoffs are already in the works.
