Our team is not having any holiday event this year.. curious is other teams are doing something. If yes, is it comparable/better/worse than previous years?

@19f mate what till you see the OUS Chrissy parties. Yeah baby!
@18q I know the staff in our area are getting those pre-made crudite platters and stale cookie platters from Aldi. The rest of the budget will be so 3 or 4 "upper managers" can stuff meat in their pie holes at Fogo de Chau all while getting blitzed on top shelf booze.
@ze which bosses aren’t selfish?
If your boss is selfish they might keep budget for themselves
I wonder if they will use these "parties" as occasion to hand out pink slips. That is about right for the culture here now.
I really can't stand this place anymore...not really the rank and file people but the phony baloney people who have made it so bad. No way in He-l I would go stand there eating and smiling and acting like I will still be working here this time next year. I've seen the planned menu and the food all su-ks anyway - probably by design so they can buy minuscule amounts and they won't run out.
@OP Gonna pop the Dom and eat eye fillet and lobster. We got staff flying from the other side of the country. Paarrrrty! Woooooo! Sounds like you drew the short straw. Sorry but thank you for paying for it.
Investments and Sales team parties are where it’s at
Yes, our team is having an event, we were given a modest budget. It’s the same as in previous post-COVID years, we go to a nice lunch/dinner/happy hour. It’s not super fancy like in pre-COVID days but it’s still nice.
Your team should have been given a budget for an outing. If you aren’t having one I’m suspicious if your lead team just decided to use the money for themselves.
