@19h It says the remaining people in IT are working their a-s off to keep the light on, wait till Dec comes, that will tell you!

I know lay offs s**ck. The ones who stayed are now doing the job of two people all while being micromanaged. If you were recently let go, there’s something better for you. You’re not missing out on much here.

If they outsource that means more vendor perks for the execs. Masters, Super Bowl etc.

A lot of IT people with years of knowledge were let go. How do you expect contractors to come in and support apps that company is so dependent on. When things don't get done then perhaps they will see the error of their decisions.

Also, outsourcing is always more expensive and those people do not have the background knowledge of the business or applications.

@tk who is Burns?

Post ID: @zq+1k75fpdf9

There is no reason for Mr. Burns to stay around, they can make more bad decisions without him. It would make no difference, only saving millions.

They could save a whole lot more by just booting the rest of IT and outsourcing it all. Clearly Beluga inflated it enough when he was playing SAP sales man.

I heard IT lost >20 on Thursday. Sux to see so much talent go with former VP’s+ still wandering around as “advisors”.

If ITs been hit that hard then it’s true melon head has lost his clout.

"There is no dead weight anymore"

Nonsense claim. Per Google AI:

"An adult beluga whale typically weighs between 500 and 1,500 kilograms (1,100 to 3,300 pounds), though males can be heavier, sometimes reaching over 1,600 kg (3,530 lbs)."

Mr. Burns disagrees that there is no more dead weight. All he sees is dead weight. It’s the only reason he’s still around. Because he loves watching the dead weight burn.

@db He took over in 2015. APA was about $60-70 per share. Shares have been stock $15-25 for ages now. Devon Energy for comparison has had better returns for same period. At some point BOD has to say we need change-maker running company.

@cm never heard of a "cheaper contractor" unless I am out of the loop. Contractors I knew in past would be getting $100-200 per hour. You pay an employee, let's say %150,000 and they are putting in 3,000 hours a year, that's $50 per hour. Benefits are no more than $5-10 p/h.

@ah There is no dead weight anymore. The people I work with literally work 7 days a week, AM and PM after hours, weekends, holidays.....mostly what's left after numerous layoffs is slaves that put APA first. The duties of those laid off then falls on them in part and at what point to you say F this and walk. They let go of real talented people. The dead wood was let go back in like 2019 or 2020 era.

You cannot get any leaner then we are now.

Beluga would rather lay off more IT ICs than folks in that pre-retiree special projects team…

I thought IT was done? Where else could they possibly cut from?

Seems only IT yesterday. Over a dozen is what I heard, maybe replace with cheaper contractors or AI. Wonder if other groups will follow before year end.

Hate to say it but the more dead weight tossed overboard, the better it is for the rest of us.
