Has anyone heard anymore about if telecommuters will be going in for MN and DC?

op is making up lies theres no such order
@1e0 yes we get an official email this Monday letting us know we must return 10/20. We are not happy.
It's by zipcode and they did a calculation based on peak commute days and times for the 30 min and to come up with the list of people required to RTO. I have no idea if grade level has any impact. We'll see on the email, communication.
So is this just for the Optum side? I am on the UHC side and there's multiple people on my team in MN that this likely would affect but no one has heard anything about this.
@1dk UHC doesn't consider anything as they just dont care.
@1de did they specify how they are calculating the 30 min drive time? I have an office near me that’s 27 min away with no traffic but is up to 60 min during 6:30am-9:00am. I read somewhere they were considering rush hour and peak times but not sure if that was true.
@16d So right the people laid off this past April were grade level 26 and 27 and they made them call center (on top of doing their regular job) employees to try to get them to quit so they could avoid paying severance.
@1as Yes that's what we were told, Twin Cities & DC.
Can confirm this is happening for the Twin Cities & DC. If you're within 30 minutes drive time from the office. An email will be coming out on Monday. 4 days a week starting Oct 20.
@1bh I have seen a level 25 and 26 state they weere given RTO too.
Today I was told it’s grade level 27 and above if you’re within 30 miles of the Optum campus
@1as people within a 30 min average drive time from the office
Its just people near Minnesota HQ and DC HQ right now? Sad for those people...doesn't seem fair.
there will be an email about it coming out on monday. i was alerted by my mgr today (i'm a GL 25) that i will need to go to the office (where i wouldn't even have a designated desk, i'd have to 'reserve' a space for 30 days at a time...wtf) starting october 20
There will be an email coming out on Monday.
Optum site has some chatter about this today
Hopefully they pull back in RTO. It seems like no one is actually going in anyways?
@16e Mid October in MN have heard of GL30+ don’t know much else
@16d do you know when? Grade level 28 and haven’t heard anything in Minnesota
@OP yep, it’s happening. I imagine this is just a way to get more voluntary resignations to reduce the need for severance
@z7 yes, I agree. That makes me even more comfortable exiting and letting someone else come on board. There are a lot of good people needing jobs.
@xn And there are many desperate for jobs that can replace you.
Return to office in this political climate? I was in Newark New Jersey on 9/11 and faced that stress of trying to get home to my family in a rental car. That was he-l but this is different now. I am terrified to step foot in a building. Especially in MN. Just thinking of it sends my heart racing. I can’t work in that environment and I won’t. Not one person on my team is here. Completely unjustified to force us to go in because of our vicinity to an office. Fortunately, I am in a position that I can and will resign. I am so sorry for those who are going to have to face this. The company will lose many good employees.
@ee so you are mad at the telecommuters but not the people making the policy?
In MN office no telecommuters are coming. Enjoying life at home collecting full salary and benefits where as those going to work paying substantial commute expenses. But who cares!!
@OP yes, they are going to require some job grades to return to MN and DC offices. Right now, 31s and above my may expand and potentially to other locations
I have not but I feel like it’s not going to happen. UHG seems to keep adding telecommute jobs every week. Granted it does feel like less lately, but they’re still adding them. I don’t know why they’d bother adding them if they’re going to make certain states RTO.
