@vn Exactly! At least 85% of my team are remote workers spread across North America and about 95% of the people I work with are spread across the globe. EVERY meeting I’m in is a Teams meeting because virtually NONE of us are at the same location!

From what I've heard, MDT caps ratings at 4 because it ties directly to MIPS. It’s a way to pay less. Talk to anyone who’s been here long enough—they’ll tell you we used to give out 5s.

@x2 there is a difference between flirting and looking you in the eyes. The real world and your dating apps might differ on occasion.

@tk when Medtronic and Covidien joined, the number of VPs tripled….since vp’s choose who gets laid off, they go down, never across.
One VP can save the jobs of at least 4 engineers

I just read the Q&A section about the new RTO policy. You are not allow to work from home if you are sick. You either use your PTO or go to the office. I guess I'll share my flu or Covid with my co-workers in the name of in-person collaboration and fostering herd immunity.

With RTO, "We want to foster connection, community, and IN-PERSON collaboration." How the F can I build connection, community, and IN-PERSON collaboration when my team members are either in PR, China, and India? Especially when I was told I can't travel anymore due to budget.

Biggest cost to cut is all VP's annual salary increase. This company has too many senior leaders care only about their own gain. They su-k this company dry and blame general employees for WFH.
From GM instructed no one can get rating above 4 to MM told the whole group to stop testing robots simply because the noises disturbed his phone calls . The one needs to be cut are those VPs

“Come in and collaborate face to face with your colleagues. It’s the way!”

“Great, can i go to Boston, meet up with the team I’m working with on this big project”

“Hey now, let’s not go crazy, have you tried our on screen collaboration tools?”

Global IT are the biggest abuser of Our Remote option. Heard that most of IT heads are simply not going to show up and ignore the September RTO because CIO herself don’t know a cr-p and is totally dependent on her subs. DEI

I’m excited that we’re going to see an increased travel budget, right?

If we need to be face-to-face they should have no issue approving travel for in person meetings in Galway or Tolochenaz, right?…right????

Surely they aren’t going to tell me that I can manage those relationships remotely just because it costs the company money.

What did the remote worker say when asked about their new office attire? "The worker just realized they have an entire wardrobe of clothes that aren't sweatpants!"

WFH is saving you time and money everyday you work by not having to get ready and commute everyday which also cost money to do. Considering the point of a job for 99% of people is the pay going to the office should always be a worse option.

Imagine your boss asking you to come in an hour earlier and stay an hour later each day while also saying he is gonna take an extra $100 a week from you. This is essentially what happens when you’re asked to go into the office after wfh.

Only way this is appealing to you is if your social life and personal life is so terrible you your willing to basically give an extra 10 hours or extra day to work each week for less pay all so what you can see coworkers who don’t even want to be there or see you? Generally there is no benefits to going into the office and making more work for yourself. In no other context would people be ok with more work for less money.

If they want people in the office even more they'll split the PTO/sick bucket and force sick time to be used only for sick time (potentially with doctor's note) and let it evaporate if it goes unused. It would be a sly way to take away PTO and pretend like they are allowing and encouraging you to take time off for being sick (instead of working remotely while sick, which is what we typically have done). The clear pivot away from work-life-balance suggests this could be coming next.

Lol at these comments. Half of you are why this is happening at all. We had a good thing, and you fked it up for all of us.

  • People abusing home office to do sh-t with their kids all the time, take calls while dropping kids off and doing chores, etc.
  • People admitting they don't work on Fridays or bail out early, calling it a long weekend, etc.
  • People talking about installing devices to show they logged into the office wi-fi instead of doing it, etc
  • People admitting they b-m off at home

YOU are the problem. You fu---d it up for all of us.
