@14s+1jy9va4cq It’s annoying when you know people are getting let go but none of them come on here to state what’s really going on. I don’t know if they’re angry and don’t care about anyone who is left or if it’s a part of their severance package that they cannot publicly speak about what’s happened? I wish someone would speak up so some of the info here could be a bit more accurate and transparent.

I figured we wouldn’t get an answer about LI being made contractors. Too much misinformation being spread on this site, to scare us. This company is a mess and is already stressful to work for, so no need to fear monger and spread lies to cause further anxiety.

@s5 what you failed to realize is these layoffs and outsourcing are happening in different states in the company just because it’s not happening in your state does not mean it’s not happening. In fact most of Long Island field service was just subcontracted so before you go stepping on your soapbox learn the facts.

If you are reading these posts and know of specific layoffs in your office that have actually happened, let us all know. No hyperbole, no exaggeration, no “I think they are going to…” type sh-t. If you don’t know of any, then leave it be. Don’t lie and make sh-t up to stir the pot. The only way we will know what’s what is by telling each other. Let’s stay informed and be truthful to each other.

@pt

@pr and @pf are saying the same thing. There were several Fiber techs and B@B techs laid off last week... on the SAME day everyone else was laid off. Since last Wednesday there hasn't been anymore lay offs in ANY department. As of yet, no field service techs (in house cable) have been laid off and God willing will stay that way.

I looked up this tidbit in New York City another reason to get a union and stop believing a company will do right by you

In New York City, employers are not legally required to provide severance pay when laying off employees; it is typically offered at the employer's discretion. However, certain circumstances, such as employment contracts or company policies, may obligate an employer to provide severance.

@pf To answer your question... No, there hasn't been any more layoff, since the mass layoff after the bankruptcy last week and none were cable field service techs.

I realize no one wants to hear this but unions mean nothing to Altice. They are going to do whatever they want on the front end and if they have address in court they will. Their mentality is If they get sued so what? This company has spent its entire existence in the states doing things the hard way, doing things that does not make sense. Do you think they are going to suddenly change?

@a3 in the case they gotta fire the contractors. Can't lay off bargaining unit employees if they have contractors working. They got sued for the same sh-t in 2020
