I came into work tonight and immediately noticed a few police officers on-site, along with some of the higher-ups. Having been on C-shift during the 2019 layoffs, I knew something was happening. Sure enough, they called a meeting and informed everyone on D-shift that our jobs were being eliminated, with no severance offered. To pull this just a week before Thanksgiving is bad enough, but to also not offer severance pay and deny us our bo-m bonus, which was supposed to be paid out soon, feels wrong.
PGT was far from perfect, but we had some good leadership in the past before most of them transferred or left. Shoutout to dr King, Garry, and Elijah for being among the few who were actual leaders and would go to bat for people, after they left the weekend shifts went downhill. Now that Miter Brand has taken over, it’s clear that the company is more focused on corporate interests, with leadership that’s either completely incompetent or they're another crony.
