Very hostile work environment and it starts at the top with our president. Never any talk about career progression for the employees who actually do the tuff stuff or working to boost morale, instead hes just focused on making the numbers and making himself look good.

Yeah they cut people in Conroe and then move a VP from the ME to the US and pay him more?? Gotta keep the fat cats fed.

NOV Leadership Vacuum – A Masterclass in Mismanagement
It’s astonishing how far this company has fallen. What used to be a respected name in the industry has become a case study in how not to lead. The recent silence from the top—no explanation for the sudden departure of a senior VP, no communication around layoffs, and absolutely no strategic direction—speaks volumes.

We’re not just dealing with poor leadership. We’re dealing with no leadership. Confusion has become the default operating model. Decisions are made to appease Wall Street, not to build a sustainable business. The board rubber-stamps the same failing executives year after year, and the rest of us are left to pick up the pieces.

Favouritism runs rampant. Communication is non-existent. Morale is in free fall. And the worst part? This isn’t isolated to one group—this dysfunction is systemic across NOV.

To those still hanging on: you’re not alone in your frustration. And to the execs (if any of you are reading this): leadership isn’t about stock tickers and silence. It’s about vision, accountability, and respect for the people who keep the lights on.

@238 based on what wall street thinks, the NOV leadership is failing miserably. The NOV stock is undervalued relative to its peers in almost every metric, stock price, EBITDA multiples etc.

Sad to hear things are so bad at Wellsite, that used to be a premiere group. Hopefully some changes happen and they can get back to where they used to be

@232, yes and no. What you state here is absolutely correct, but the leadership from the C-Suite is based solely on what works in Wall Street. They don't lead the business in a direction with a vision to improve NOV and build the best services, products, etc. They don't communicate well because their vision is terrible and that confusion you mention only grows and gets stronger through each business unit. The board keeps voting them in every year so it must be their plan, not an accidental problem created by a lack of leadership or vision.

I think what your desperately trying to say @141 is “Consistent lack of communication and clarity suggests inefficiency is not a flaw—but a core value.”

“When leadership leaves a vacuum, confusion fills the space. Sadly, it’s the one thing they manage effortlessly.”

Zero leadership from the top, a lot of ppl are very unhappy and looking to leave asap. Favoritism, no communication, the list goes on. Avoid this BU at all costs

@141 I think your politely trying to say that You think NOV management are fookin5 useless 😑

@141 that’s simply not correct. You’re welcome to your individual perspective, but there are several business units that are doing well with great people at all levels. Sure, there’s a need to fix the problem areas, but that’s true of nearly all companies. I hope comments like yours are cathartic for you, but that doesn’t make them true.

Have no fear, it's not just Wellsite! That feeling, fear, and impression of NOV management is the same across all the businesses and sites.
