You're doing Quiet Quitting and Not going above and beyond the bare minimum because Citi is sh00ting itself in the foot when thousand of employees do this.

Citi thinks by being cheap, paying below market rate, below it's envied Competitors but paying CEO Jane and MDs/Ds salaries and bonuses they blatantly and emphatically don't deserve, Citi is "saving" money.

Citi is also saving money by firing/laying off 300 MDs every year only to promote 300 new MDs every year.

That's what the (Citi)Titanic kept telling itself and Svckers.

All is well. No need to worry. We're saving money and making operational and tech improvements. ROTFLMFAO!

I honestly don’t care either way. I’ve planned and saved and have many years worth of salary saved up. I’m here for the insurance. Should I be let go, I can still pay for my own but why quit and do so now if I can have Citi pay for it. Right now, I work just hard enough to keep from getting fired. No more, no less.

I personally have way more power than Citi ever will over my future. I can quit any f@cking time I want to. I’m not one of the desperate sheeple who have to have this job.

Its already happening. I know of myself and two others who had calls to tell us we had 60 days to find another role due to our roles being eliminated. 19 years at the firm. Good luck and God speed.

Why troll? The link discusses the plans in detail :D It is clear Citi will continue to cut people in 2026. Company is bloated - especially back office like risk / governance / etc. And yes, they are cheap, but there are many of them and frankly most of them perform repetitive low-added value work which can be easily automated. Whether it will be cheaper though remains a question, as AI providers will start charging exorbitant sums for their services soon...
