Yeah and then Risk cries poverty and gives laughable insulting joke salary increases and bonuses, including zero percent, when they're hiring new Boz0s every week.
It doesn't matter if the new feckless Boz0s transferred in from different Citi departments. They're still new employees in Risk and got a salary increase.
You're right. There's Not enough work in Risk to go around which creates a vulture-like, dog eat dog competitive environment. This is in addition to the fact that Shareholder money is being wasted by paying and adding new employees into the department.
But then Citi hates money and loves to waste it anyway !
Post ID: @p5+1jt9f4zht Several areas in Risk were laidoff. Yet Risk is hiring, albeit in the wrong areas and for the wrong reasons.
There's simply Not enough work to go around and people are stealing other people's work, worming their way into other people's projects/assignments. Risk Senior "Management" is so oblivious they don't see this happening yet still keep hiring in the wrong areas.
Post ID: @100+1jt9f4zh Save All of the documentation, emails etc. that you get, anything that so much as hints that $hitibank is targeting more cuts specifically telecommute and remote disability accommodations because $hitbank is looking for more cuts-Layoffs.
Also, if you're in a single consent U.S. State where Only One Side-Party needs to consent to being audio/video recorded, use a small mini voice recorder to record conversations between you, your manager(s), HR, whomever.
Then use all of the above tools-we-pons to Sue the $hit out of $hitibank because as another poster said, what $hitibank is doing to you is discrimination due to vulnerability (medical condition) and should be challenged legally.
You'll find Employee-side Employment Lawyers who will take your case on contingency.
Hearing Belfast will be hit hard.
Remote - moving to low cost ? How about Belfast loc ?
Weird. What is achieved by a specific focus on telecommute?

This is called discrimination due to vulnerability (medical condition) and should be challenged legally.
So glad I retired in March. It was not worth coming back from medical leave
They are going after people that are telecommuters even if it’s listed in their contract. I may be next any day now. I have a written medical HR approval letter for fully remote work good through 2026. Was just pulled aside yesterday by manager saying it’s no longer valid. Then found out from another manager that it’s because they’re looking for more cuts regardless of performance specifically telecommute and remote disability accommodations.
know of both layoffs (typically problems, from all accounts) and new hire opportunities
There are new team members in my team ,basically both going on simultaneously
people across HR were also axed, many in recruiting. offshoring most of the roles
Thank god. Get rid of the overpriced and useless contractors 👌

Citi HR in full damage control mode.
If you’re let go, you’ll be flipping burgers. There is no safe haven of middle ground or mirrored tech position in another company. Its either tech at Citi or flipping burgers. The best thing you can do is put in extra long hours every single day, work on the weekend days and pray you’re not targeted. Volunteer for extra extra stuff all the time and provide a quick turnaround. Don’t ask for more money just give all that you have and all that you are to Citi and just maybe it’ll be enough.
Which areas of Risk ? Moreover, nowadays lot of risk teams revoke access same day.
Post ID: @kp+1jt9f4zht It's true about Risk layoffs. I know some of the people who got axed. Their last day was April 30 and are No longer in the Global Directory.
This means they were told late February or early March, which gave them 2 months to access their Workday, pay stubs, etc..
You heard wrong. Major layoffs in ICM. More to come in 2-3 week of May. Risk reorg to follow.
You people are all so gullible. OP talking out of his a-s and you take a great big bite of it.
Wash and repeat ad nauseum.
Who was laid off, what department? I haven't heard anything in the NYC office. Are more coming this next week?
In what area were the layoffs?
Vendors and contractors aren't employees. They don't get laid off, they get let go.
Every single year, there’s either layoffs or rumor of layoffs. How is this time any different? Hey, you know what happened 1,2,3,4 & 5 years ago? Layoffs or rumors of layoffs.
The crossing your fingers methodology does not work.
You should have saved $ by now and have skilled up to prepare should the hammer fall.
If the hammer does not fall on you, you need to start looking elsewhere before the next time rolls around. Let there be no delusion about it, it will come back around. How many times have we heard “If you’re on this meeting, you’re safe, you made it. Layoffs are over with.”
TCS is most impacted vendor.
Contractors in my tech org let go. Rumblings about FTE soon because not enough contractors to cut to get to the expense reductions coming down from Tim Ryan, apparently.
I hope I’m the first one on the list! But I haven’t seen any yet.
where? Citibank is a global bank. There can be layoff in a certain region while the rest is business as usual. Even a department can be going through it while the neighboring apartment is running normally. Citi is like a bubble, so it too broad to say layoffs happening. Happening where? and what department?
Nope
Structure changes for both ICM and Risk were announced last week. References made to moving role to lower costs locations but no hard details yet..
No
What happened?? Where? Details please
